Thanksgiving has passed and it's official -- the Christmas season has begun! If your list of favorite holiday movies includes the really dark comedy 'Bad Santa,' then the prospect of a sequel will fill you with red and green glee. Billy Bob Thornton -- who played the reckless, filthy mall Santa in the 2003 movie (produced by the Coen brothers, and co-starring Lauren Graham and Bernie Mac) -- is teasing fans with the promise of more Willie Stokes.
Thornton's been on a bit of a Hollywood hiatus while touring as a musician, but according to a recent interview he gave to Collider, he considers his character study of an alcoholic Christmas curmudgeon right up there with other beloved, iconic holiday films.
"'Bad Santa' [has] become like a classic Christmas movie...'It's a Wonderful Life' and 'Miracle on 34th Street' and 'Bad Santa' now is sort of the box set. And there's been talk of making a sequel to it, which I actually would like to do. I've never done a sequel to one of my movies, but that one makes sense to me to do."

So that music career didn't quite work out huh? And "Bad Santa II" will be the vehicle for your fans to sit up and take notice that you are back? Well...good luck...movies that go directly to DVD still pay the bills, nothing to be ashamed of.

A sequel to "Bad Santa" would be great! The first one was hysterical. I'd go see Part 2.

So right,JEB. The first "Bad Santa" was funny, and a no brainer. Just fun.
I kind of preferred his darker movies . Not as much money in them as these high profile loser films
I wonder, IF they make a sequel to "Bad Santa", will Thurman Merman (the kid) be back also? He was so innocent, you just HAD to feel sorry for him.
"Is Grandma spry?" Love to see a sequel. Bad Santa (I bought Badder Santa, the extended cut, when it appeared) is one of my favorite Xmas movies. It's truly sick and funny and twisted, just like the holidays.

Have to agree. I have Badder Santa and watch it around Christmas to counteract all the sappy Christmas movies. But You have to admit its on the same track as A Christmas Carol.
He just wants a paycheck, the 1st movie sucked and so does he.

And you don't? Sorry your funnybone is lodged in your keester. Because Bad Santa was screamingly funny; twisted but funny.
RT, right you are. I'd love to see a "Bad Santa" sequel. The first one was gross, sick and hilarious. Just what we need for the holidays. And the uncur version, which I have on DVD, is even better.

I'd definitely watch the sequel if Lauren Graham was in it.

I didn't see the theatrical version, but the Badder Santa was extremely funny, gross, but funny. Definitely not a family film.

Love Billy Bob. He's so extremely talented and yet underappreciated. I'd love to see Bad Santa 2. One of my all time fave movies is Slingblade. Actually all of Billy Bob's movies are good.

Mine too. His oscar was well deserved. And you're right he's good in all his movies. Even when he has small roles. I don't remember the name of the movie but another good one was when he played some guy's brother who found money in a plane that had crashed. Anyway sorry for the poor description.
