Black Eyed Peas To Headline Super Bowl Show

Hungry for a big Bowl of Peas? With a new album dropping in a few days, and a recent win for Best Pop Group at the American Music Awards, the Black Eyed Peas have been having the time of their life this month. Next year is looking brighter than ever, too.
Super Bowl XLV officials have confirmed that the 2011 half-time show airing live on Fox will star the 'Boom Boom Pow' singers, no strangers to getting enormous crowds onto their feet dancing. The Peas will release their sixth album, 'The Beginning,' on Nov. 30. Then they'll start rehearsing for the Super Bowl, scheduled for Feb. 7 at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
"They could have picked anybody," will.i.am told
Rolling Stone. "But it says something that they picked us."
The announcement of a younger-skewing group represents a departure for Super Bowl half-time choices. Ever since
Justin Timberlake and
Janet Jackson's notorious "wardrobe malfunction" was broadcast live around the world as the unforgettable final moment in the 2004 half-time show, gun-shy producers have tapped "classic" acts like Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty, Paul McCartney and Prince to provide the annual entertainment.
While touring last winter, Peas lead singer
Fergie was spotted taking a break from the stage to attend Super Bowl parties in Miami. The band has been in training all year, so to speak (even facing the famously frenzied audience on a recent
'Oprah's Favorite Things' episode), and it promises be one of the most talked-about shows football fans have seen in years.

WHAT A JOKE! The Black Eyed Peas have to be one the worst live acts. They are a bunch of idiots that run around the stage and will have huge productions, lights and costumes since they have no talent. Fergie is a wanna be black chick. Shes about as black as Doris Day. She was once in an all girl group called "Wild Orchid". They were sort of a Wilson Phillips type group. Now shes gone ghetto like the rest of this pathetic world. SO sad for music.

I guess a country and western group would better please your hatred, They're rich - you're broke thats why they'll be AT the super bowl and you get to watch them...
P. f'n U. Bring back the marching bands.
Do they not know that it's 'Boom Boom Pow'... Typical American idiots.

This is all about who is sitting in the White House. Everyone is smart enough to see why this is being done. Half-breed POTUS and half breed band.

WTH are you talkin' about? You sound silly. Anyway if were up to the President Jay Z would be performing.
Well I did hear rumors of this stupidity but now that it's official barring of course that the band gets sick or something and can't "perform" then I guess I will quite probably will be with the majority who will just turn off the TV and get a snack when those bums are on. The Who were freaking were unbelievable last superbowl. They should have kept up the real music and ratings winning streak. Hide and watch....the ratings will plummet when those fools go on and most will turn the channel if it is a crappy game with one team dominating over the other before the half. Then when people realize that the next thing they have to hear for the next 20 minutes at halftime is the silly "lymerics and rhimes" and gumball machine "music" of BBP'S. Then its game over for the rating and game over for the idiot or idiots that suggested these bunch of dummies perform.

It's about time they got an updated act. With the exception of Prince I quit watching the half-time show after J and Timberlake.

I'm afraid acts like this garbage represent today's society. Those of us who enjoyed the Stones, McCartney and the Who are no longer representative of the majority. Heaven help us, and please turn down that trashy music sonny.

Oh great, a half-time lip-synch contest, this will be exciting.

Hey, how about if we just put a boom-box on the stage and let the mindless robots dance around the field to that. The BEPs are going to be faking it anyway.

I really don't care for rap but this to Me was the best Half Time Super bowl show since Aerosmith. I turned up my sound system and loved every minute espically the songs I got a Feeling and Sweet Child of Mine but I was a little disappointed the Peas didn't do more of I Got a Feeling and omitted the tune One Tribe.
Good Job Peas !!!!!!!!!
