Dr. Drew Nabs New Show on HLN

Dr. Drew Pinsky of 'Celebrity Rehab' fame has landed a new gig as the host of an upcoming show on CNN's "News and Views" network, HLN. The show will provide a forum for Pinsky's reflections on news stories and individuals covered by HLN each day.

Pinsky, a certified physician who came to prominence offering medical expertise on 'Loveline,' has signed on to begin hosting duties in the spring of 2011, according to CNN's Marquee Blog. His new show will hit the air soon after the premiere of the latest installment of 'Celebrity Rehab,' which stars Tiger Woods' alleged mistress Rachel Uchitel and former 'Party of Five' star Jeremy London.

HLN's executive vice president, Scot Safon, says of adding Pinsky to the HLN lineup: "Dr. Drew informs and inspires audiences on subjects that matter most to them and their families, and he is an ideal fit for the HLN network. Whether the topics are in the news or simply in the daily lives of our audience, Dr. Drew will shed light, provide crucial information and give viewers something to talk -- and think -- about."

In addition to his life on-screen, Pinsky works on staff at Pasadena's Huntington Memorial Hospital and has his own private practice. He also holds a position at USC's Keck School of Medicine, where he serves as an assistant clinical professor of psychiatry.

Despite his busy schedule, Pinsky is excited for his upcoming show, telling CNN, "I'm looking forward to becoming part of the HLN family and digging deep to bring out the stories behind the stories that people are talking about."

Dr. Drew another TV quack that has ruined more lives than drugs. Him and Dr. Phil belong behind bars where they will receive plenty of good advice and their rewards.

I do have the utmost respect for Dr. Drew...but, I just kinda wonder what HLN is supposed to be....I do remember when it was truly the "headline news network" and somehow, it is nowhere near that now.

I do like some of their shows, but I think they should make the public aware that their format is not so much news as opinion.

I love Celebrity Rehab, and enjoy listening to Dr. Drew. He's knowledgable and informative. The thing is though - there are no more "news" channels. Everything is all entertainment. What can you do?

Dr. Drew I've seen you on talk shows before, and for the most part think your a very likeable guy. I started watching yourr show to get info on the Casey Anthony case. My point is, your apologizing constantly or bas icily giving a disclaimer on almost every time you give your thoughts, it's getting very redundant. Please STOP

Dr Drew,just got done watching your show on Anna Nicole Smith and Michael Jackson.first i need to tell you i have been clean for 5 yrs and 4 mos and i work in the field of subsatnce abuse at an out patient treatment facility.On April 17th 2010 i was in a bad motorcyle accident that i should have died in but my H.P. had a plan for me.My pelvic was shattered to the point that i had a 3D reconstruction,shatterd right wrist,shatterd right ankel,pin in the right hip and my left knee blown out.i was on morphine,oxycodone,bacloven,ambien to sleep and colondine for my anxiety.when i was released fron the hospital after 3mos i told my doctor i no longer wanted to be on the medication i was on because i was worried about my recovery(my doctor and the staff new i was an addict)what i am trying to say is that the handlers and people close to Anna and Michael could have said ok time for you to start to deal with your pain.I live with pain on a daily basis but through prayer and meditation and a couple of asprin a day i am doing fine.i get alittle angrey when people want to enable the addict to continue the disrtuctive deadly diseas of addiction.thank you for pulling covers,i do all the time...Christine
