He looks great. A little thin but great. My sister hadd brain cancer but did not make it. died 5 months later. Went right through her body. You try what Michael just went through and you will say he looks great too. So happy for him and his family and so sorry for the ones that did not make this awful disease. GOD bless them all. My daughter went through breast cancer and she made it. Living miracles. He looks gaunt. He was slim any ways but these drugs do take there toll. He will gain back what he lost and think you better read up on what they go through to recover. you will then say he looks great too. Shame on you.

I can tell that you've never had the luxury of having gone through 7 treatments of radiation and 3 times a week having an i.v. in your veins, as a toxic substance slowly pours through your veins for 4 hours with every visit. You have to get every bit of that chemo bag. You start to lose your hair(even on the body) you can't keep a meal down and constantly vomitting. The night sweats the cold chills. Now because of all the vomitting and having very little appetite (if any), your body starts to wither down to a mere 2 digit number. It is ugly, but the treatment seems worse than the disease itself. But my heart goes out to him and his entire family. I don't think its his time to leave this earth. Not just yet. You CAN actually beat cancer!

The "I blame my mom/dad because i am on drugs and in prison" act only works for so long. His son cameron is a grown man, he needs to be held responsible for his actions. I am sure Michael douglas at the time thought what he was doing was right. Now years later he admits he wasn't the perfect parent, but then again, who is. Parents second guess themselves and regret decisions, they shouldn't be blamed for the entirety of their childs issues and faults.

Lots of people grow up in homes that are broken, where mothers or fathers, or both, are absent, or virtually absent. And when they are grown, whether successful or broke, saint or sinner, police officer or prisoner, they make their own beds and lie in them as adults.

-While it isn't always entirely the parent's fault, absentee and abusive parents play a huge role in drug use and adult problems. It can make a child feel inadequate, like they aren't good enough to even receive their parent's love and attention, so why would anyone else care about them. And that feeling of inadequacy and worthlessness can last for a very long time. For alot of people it never goes away.

It can affect social development, create intimacy issues, make it difficult to create lasting friendships and relationships, and yes even self mutilation via substance abuse.

Saying that every person should be made to be judged on the same scale is also, quite ridiculous. Some people are more easily affected by abuse and mentally unhealthy situations, and others just aren't strong enough to move past it.

It's not the parent's fault that he picked up a pipe, but ignoring his child played a huge role in to the man he became. He did indeed feed into that self loathing that very likely caused him to start in on his habit.

Things aren't always black and white, but people should be held accountable for their actions. Parents and children both.
