David Cassidy Pleads Not Guilty to DUI Charges

vowed to fight DUI charges, and kept his promise by pleading not guilty in a Florida court today,
TMZ reports.
Cassidy was not at the hearing, but his attorney entered the plea for 'The Partridge Family' star. If he's found guilty, the actor faces up to 6 months in jail and a $1,000 fine. He's expected back in court in January.
Cops pulled the former teen heartthrob over on Nov. 3 in Fort Pierce, Florida, after patrolmen spotted Cassidy weaving between lanes and nearly hitting another car.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol
report, the 60-year-old Cassidy told the officer he'd had a glass of wine at lunch and that he also had prescription medication and hydrocodone in his system.
When the trooper approached the car, he "could smell a slight odor of an unknown alcoholic beverage come from the defendant's mouth," according to the report. A half-empty bottle of Woodford Reserve Kentucky Bourbon was spotted in the car.
After Cassidy, described in the report as "unsteady on his feet," failed several sobriety tests he was arrested and charged with DUI, failure to maintain a single lane and having an open container. The arrest occurred at 8PM, but he was not released on bond until 3:22AM Thursday.
Cassidy's rep denies the police account, declaring that the actor was not drinking and had only taken a pain pill for his back earlier in the day. The actor, who says he was returning from a funeral at the time of the arrest, plans to fight the DUI charges.
"He would never jeopardize anyone on the road and he would not have been driving had he not had to go to a funeral," Jo-Ann Geffen tells
TMZ. "He's never been arrested in his life before for anything."

wow, if that's his booking photo -- I thought he looked terrible -- and he had alcohol and drugs (why was he taking pain killers exactly?)
Dina99 if you think he looks good you need to see your eye doctor or get off crack.
He is famous and lives in Hollywood so he will not go to jail as long as he pays the big bucks.

He did test .13 & .14 way over the .08 limit. Plus everyone knows you don't take pain pills & drink. That made him even more under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol which is what the laws says is illegal to be doing.

If David is guilty, he should pay the price. If not guilty - then fight it. This will be Justin Bieber in about 40 years. Oh wait - Justin has NO talent. David has always had talent!

David should be thankful that he didn't hurt and/or kill anyone else, including himself. He consented to & was given Breathalyzer testing, both of which he failed. He's a resident of the State of Florida & lives in Ft. Lauderdale. That he pleaded Not Guilty is hardly surprising, especially given that he usually manages to charm his way out of most things. Hopefully, not this time!
A note to our celeb. legal system:
Hurry up and let him go. He has to do it again
so, don't delay his mission.
