Keith Urban on Nicole Kidman: I Thought Rehab Would 'Destroy Us'

Sitting down with
Oprah Winfrey,
Keith Urban spoke candidly about entering rehab just four months after he married
Nicole Kidman.
"[I thought], 'Surely let's give it a few years so we've got some solidity, because this kind of thing could tear us apart,'" he told Oprah,
Usmagazine.com reports. "This could just destroy us."
But it was the Oscar-winning actress who ended up staging an intervention, which Urban believes help foster their bond.
"It was really a profound moment in so many ways. The way in which Nic handled that moment was just perfect ... Everything was just designed, I believe, for that moment to fuse us together."
His 2006 stint in treatment was the third time in eight years that the country singer went to rehab. "I had to make a decision which road I was going to take, once and for all. I'd been at that crossroads before and always taken the wrong road."
"I look back now and realize Nic has taught me so much and brought so much into my life and opened my eyes in so many ways ... [This is] the best place I've ever been," he added.
Urban and Kidman married in June of 2006. They have one daughter, Sunday Rose. Kidman has two children with her ex-husband
Tom Cruise. The actress is enjoying early Oscar buzz for her role in the family drama 'Rabbit Hole,' which earned her raves at the Toronto Film Festival.

THEY ARE SUCH A CUTE COUPLE. WHEN THEY LOOK AT EACH OTHER YOU CAN JUST SEE AND FEEL THE LOVE THEY HAVE FOR EACH OTHER. I HOPE THEY STAY TOGETHER FOR THE REST OF THEIR LIVES.

Maybe you wanna check it out or tell your friends..
Even with rehab he is better than Tom Cruise, at least Keith and Nicole aren't parading their daughter around showing the world how spoiled she can be. Suri is going to be a trust fund baby with nothing else to do but shop.

I just wish there was more inclusion of her older children. Seems they are pushed out of this happy family.

I would love to know the "real" story as to why Nicole has nothing to do with Isabella and Conner. Very sad.
Ask Tom. They Supposedly go to School all year round. Scientology Remember??? She supposedly sees them during the Summer and calls them. Its not all her fault.
Not true. The children made the choice to live with Tom. They were not picking a favorite parent, they were picking a state. They wanted Ca. to live and TN just to visit. It is said that Nichole is in constant contact and very involved in their lives.
W is right. I haven't seen a word written about those two other kids since Sunday Rose was born. And Sharon hit the nail on the head about Suri. That's going to be one messed up kid.

Yes, it would be nice if she had closer relationship with her older children, but I think you have Tom Cruise to thank for that. He surprised her with the divorce and made sure the kids stayed with him. I don't think she had a choice. And I'm not a big Nicole Kidman fan either. I'm sure those kids were so intrenched in their dad's belief's that pulling them away would have done them more harm then good. I may seem harsh and some people don't understand how one can do it. But sometimes, I think one parent "walks away" or limits the contact to keep the peace. I'm sure she is heart broken about it and hopes as the kids get older that they will seek her out more.
