Kim Kardashian Poses in a Coffin for World AIDS Day
Kim Kardashian is playing dead for a good cause -- a new campaign to raise awareness for World AIDS Day and
Keep A Child Alive.
The reality star joins celebs like
Lady Gaga and
Justin Timberlake in making a "Digital Life Sacrifice," wherein they stop using Twitter and Facebook in an effort to raise awareness and money for
Keep A Child Alive. Kardashian and others have shot provocative ads where they pose in coffins and have even filmed "last tweet and testament" videos. They will log off on Dec. 1 (World AIDS Day) and not sign back on until $1 million has been raised.
The event is organized by Alicia Keys, a global ambassador for the charity. Keys said no celebrity turned down her request to take part in the campaign. "Once I got people on the phone, and I was able to paint the concept for them, everybody was in," she told UK's
Daily Mail.
Leigh Blake, president and co-founder of Keep A Child Alive, added, "We're trying to sort of make the remark: Why do we care so much about the death of one celebrity as opposed to millions and millions of people dying in the place that we're all from?"
Keep a Child Alive is dedicated to providing life-saving treatment, care and support services to children and families affected by HIV/AIDS in Africa and India by directly engaging the global public in the fight against AIDS.

Nope. Another no talent idiot. Why can;t the press just ignore these people so they can slime their way back to their caves?
I'd be happy to chip in a dollar....... is that would help the Kardasians DISAPPEAR!!!!!!

This vain and egotistical woman couldn't care less about AIDS, children, or anything lese with a pulse. She's into herself and nothing else.

Damn - it's a publicity stunt. I thought we were rid of this waste of space.

Want a nice gesture? How about one day without the Kardashians anywhere - in print, on TV, anywhere. Give the world a vacation from the most blatantly exploitative family on the planet.

I was hoping she would stay off television permanently. I am sick and tired of all these so-called celebrities having reality shows. What has she ever done besides sell sex!!! What trash.

I wish these " Hollywood Hos " would just get a life. Believe it or not, there are millions of people who could care less about the Hollywood Hos who get busted with drugs, DUIs and get off because they plaster their faces all over the place. Whos going to care when they lose those bodies and looks, what will they have then? I wish more kids would realize what these women are really like and not look up to them. They are ruining socity

WTF who cares if they ever tweet again? Why should the public pay up when all these celebrities could easily just donate the million?

Dyan - well said!!!! People need to get a life and quit watching this trash.

My mother has AIDS and I find this type of campaign insensitive and tacky. It appears Kim is really trying to gain attention for herself more than she is for a cause. I am repulsed by this "virtual" death scene. I am also a doctor who has treated patients with AIDS and they do not appreciate celebrities jumping on a publicity bandwagon and gaining notoriety at their expense. This is shameful behavior and shows that Hollywood celebrities only want to draw attention to themselves in shocking and over the top ways.

I am really sorry to hear that. I, like you, found this to be extremely tasteless and not helpful. I feel like she's mocking people afflicted by this disease, which are not only the carriers, but their loved ones as well. I wish you and your mom many healthful days.
Is anybody really supposed to care about this crap

Just a publicity stunt. With all her money let her send the money.Same with all entertainers.

She might not be dead, but I wouldn't mind if her reality show died. Same goes for all these reality shows. Wouldn't mind seeing them disappear from TV entirely. Make room for some quality programming.

why do these people make headlines? paris and kim, these people contribute absoultley nothing to society. they live the highlife off their parents fortunes, never have to work, never have to worry about car payments mortgages, putting food on the table but yet people idiolize them. it makes me sick.!!!!
