'Inferno' Director Relieved Lindsay Lohan Is Gone

Matthew Wilder is happy that Lindsay Lohan is a distant memory. The director of the Linda Lovelace biopic 'Inferno' vented to RadarOnline.com about the headaches of dealing with Lohan while trying to manage his movie -- now that everything is back on track with his new leading actress, Malin Akerman.

"I feel like 16 tons of weight are off my mind not having to deal with the Lindsay Lohan situation," Wilder said. "We have not heard anything from Lindsay and her camp recently but we wish her and them well."

Last week, it was announced Lohan was cut from the project after a neverending struggle with jail, rehab and bad mugshots, but other reports from FOX News suggest Lohan opted out herself.

Wilder later said he has faith Lohan will pull herself back together eventually if she gets her attitude in check.

"I think she has great talent and if she respects those gifts then she will go on to show people what she is capable of doing," Wilder said.

As for Akerman taking Lohan's place as the iconic (and tragic) porn star, Wilder couldn't be happier.

"I love working with her, she is sensitive and hard-working and I think it's a great decision for our project," Wilder said.

I am relieved that Lindsay is not going to be in the movie either, but for a different reason.....
I would not spend a cent to see the life of Linda Lovelace/Deep Throat if anyone plays it. A cheap life that has been filmed before and is truly disgusting. Lindsay career has fallen far enough and this film would have plunged it further.

I was surprised when I first heard a film crew had hired her after everything she'd been doing up till that point. Not so surprised at this latest development. They were crazy to ask her to work for them in the first place. I wonder if anyone else will be..?

Great talent. Incredible voice. I'd go to see him anyday and I'm not even a C&W fan. Who cares if he smokes pot, or what he looks like. Taxes? That's an IRS problem.
