Jon worked hard prior to the show and was driven into the ground by that woman he was married to. She has no business on television; children aren't meant to make your money and support you. It's supposed to be the other way around. Unfortunately for these poor children, not only are they supporting their mother financially, they have no emotional support from their mother, and never will. She is too self-absorbed to see the damage she is doing to her children. Instead of "Kate Plus Eight," I'd like to see a new show...."Kate Has Gone Away!" Hopefully, without her children. Jon may not be the perfect parent, but from what I saw in the early shows, he was by far the better, more patient, caring and emotionally stable parent those children had....in my eyes, he's their only hope of learning to live with love rather than watching their mother on television doing God only knows what (may be next on her list).

I don't think OCD is the right description of Kate. I believe that NPD (Narcissistic Personality Disorder) would be a lot more on target. In her own eye's, she is perfect with a capital P. Anything less is not acceptable. If it's not perfect, it IS NOT her fault. It's amazing that absolutely zero in her life is not "great" as she so repeatedly said in the interview. That's denial of reality at it's best. I actually feel sorry for Jon, as you can't cure what ails her.

Why is it unfair to blame Kate. Jon, from the beginning, has said that he didn't want the show. While filming the original series, he said he wanted out. Jon earned the money just like Kate did, but when he wanted out of the TLC contract to find other ways to make money, they sued him. Kate went as far as kicking the kids aunt out of their life because TLC wanted to pay her. She is an A-1 piece of garbage who found joy in belittling and disparaging Jon's every move as a father and husband. When she leaves home for 9 or 10 months out of the year promoting her books, her ideas and her dancing, she is not helping raise her 8 kids.

When is enough going to be enough. All you ever hear about is "How terrible her life is". She is not talented at all and yet is still all over the TV and media. I just wish she would go away. There are more important issues in the world than if Kate gets a date or a brain.

I couldn't agree with you more. I used to think she was a bit harsh on the show until I heard interviews from him. I could see why she would be at her wits end trying to raise a family. It seems as though she has been a single parents all along, with the addition of a 9th child. Having a husband that is pouty, self-centered and behaves like a brooding child, cannot be pleasant.

I grant you that Kate and Kate alone earned money by doing DWTS. She also has earned some money doing a few "special correspondent" bits for ET (once or twice for DWTS, and once for Skating with the Stars). She had a book ghost-written for her by her friend Beth, and she took full credit for that, so I guess you could say, stretching it a bit, that she "earned" that money by herself. However, the real workers in this family have always been the minor children, especially the sextuplets. They are the entire reason that TLC ever did a show that included Kate. Sadly, they only get 15% of those profits, much of which is spent on their schooling, medical care, and other "necessities," while Ms. G. keeps a whopping 85% for manicures, tanning, teeth whitening, cosmetic surgery, expensive clothing, bodyguard fees, and the like.

I wouldn't begrudge Kate's working to support her family if she didn't use the kids to do it. She most likely gets paid to be interviewed and again it is always about the kids. So the kids are making the money not Kate.
I don't care if Kate and Jon hate each other. Kate needs to take some responsibilty for the break up.

Have you seen ANY of the original shows. She has serious issues and needs to take responsibility for her role in everything.

Kate has every right to work in TV if that is what she wants but she does not have the right to exploit her children...These kids are having a very difficult time as you can tell by the problems acting out, etc at age 6 and what happens when they hit their teenage years...And bashing her husband on TV is just wrong...He is the Father of her children and when she attacks him she is attacking part of them...Enough...get these kids of TV and let them have a normal life or as normal as can be with a Mother such as Kate...Put the kids needs first before yourself Kate...

I guess you are not watching the same show's that we are, she think she is better than Jon well to me they were both to blame for their DIVORCE. Kate rather go to Los Angeles, or New York to do Interview's about herself and don't care that her kid's are having trouble at home she need's to go back to her Nursing job and stay away from T.V. She is "FAKE" every part of her. At least Jon is staying at of the media except when So Call Kate Call him out. Kate need to start being a MOM to me she don't won't that anymore she like the LIMELIGHT"S

And what would Jon do with the kids? Use them as bait to get into bed with young juvenile women who feel sorry for a father with all those kids! Jon has not shown enough character to get a real job to support his kids and is jealous of Kate's ability to work and support the kids. Jon only wants Kate to support him and his lifestyle too!

No one could believe Jon is interested in a normal quiet life. He sought the easy road of media exploitation of his children from the beginning instead of providing for his children by his own labors. My husband provides for our family of 11 children, it is not impossible, nor does it doom a family to utter poverty. Jon flagrantly abandoned his marriage vows with the same disregard for the good of his children that has been his lifelong pattern. I would suggest the friends and fellow hangers on in Jon's life are anything but true friends. They continue to do harm to the children they profess to care so much about. Kate has not falsely represented herself & for whatever reason, brings a benefit of financial gain to those who wish to make their living off of her and her life story. Jon is a Prodigal husband without a hint of remorse.

i agree patricia. jon is a mess. kate is not the best mom but jon would just use those kids to get laid or promote himself somehow. kate has taken blame in the past for her mistakes. she wasnt always nice to jon..so what? if he didnt act like her 9th child instead of her husband maybe she would have been nicer.

I think the kids would be better off with Jon. Everyone is trying to defend Kate, don't you realize how high strung and anal she is? I don't care how many kids she has to take care of, having children is a choice and she chose to have that many kids. She's not stuck or trapped, she made a decision and is dealing with the consquences. If you ever saw the show you would know that she virtually drove Jon away. I mean would you stay with someone who treated you that way? Yelling at him in public, and in front of the kids. She put the family in the spotlight, she went crazy with fame. The Duggars have 19 kids, and a reality show, but they don't spend thousands of dollars on personal grooming. She let it get to her head. If people were less interested in her she'd be just another octo-mom instead of a reality star.

I just had to laugh, because if you changed just a few sentences in the story, and the name for Kate to Sarah, the story would still be accurate! Blame the media, blame other people, but take no responsibility for your own actions.
