Margaret Cho Says Sarah Palin Forced Bristol to Join 'Dancing'

During Bristol Palin's reign on 'Dancing With the Stars,' dancing rival Margaret Cho thought something was fishy. On Nov. 29, Cho blogged about a rumor that Bristol was only competing in the reality TV dance competition because her mom pushed her into it so she could score political points for a possible White House run.

"Sarah supposedly blames Bristol harshly and openly (in the circles that I heard it from) for not winning the [2008] election, and so she told Bristol she 'owed' it to her to do 'DWTS' so that 'America would fall in love with her again' and make it possible for Sarah Palin to run in 2012 with America behind her all the way," Cho wrote.

Although the 41-year-old comedian and 'DWTS' competitor thinks it was all a political stunt, Cho still gives credit where it's due. Cho got eliminated from the show on Oct. 5, while Bristol made it to the final round and lost out to Jennifer Grey.

After Bristol lost, Grey joked that she was "so happy" Sarah Palin didn't shoot her, and now Cho joked she's scared Alaska's mama grizzly is going to come after her.

"Now I am scared I am going to wake up with a decapitated moose head in my bed," she wrote.

Really....seems like whenever a fallen 'star' wants to get their name or picture in the press, they bash someone or start a rumor or confirm a rumor. Why not get in the press on your own merit and talent? Margaret Cho, who?

I wouldn't be surprised if this were true. I live in Alaska and know a lot of people that have either reported to Sarah with the state or knew the kids. Let's just say that almost everyone that knows them will tell you that there is another side of Sarah. Bristol and Sarah actually have a pretty bad relationship when the cameras are off.

So according to your logic nobody respects Jennifer Grey because she went on a reality show. Or nobody respects Shawn Johnson because she went on DWTS'?. Or nobody respects Apolo Ohno? What about Brandi? Nobody respects her either? Or any of the more than 100 other stars, athletes or well known people who have been on the show in the last several years?

Yep! I lived in Alaska for 23 years (left in 2007) and I thought Palin was as much a joke then as I do now. She had to go for VP so that, even after I left Alaska, she could continue to pop up on my TV with that nauseating voice and FAKE, FAKE, FAKE "personality"! I totally believe that Sarah forced Bristol to participate in DWTS, and that she believes it was Bristol's pregnancy that lost the last election. LOL! After GWB, there was NO WAY a Republican was gonna win, even is Bristol had managed to keep her chubby legs crossed. Pretty amazing she got pregnant though..... how many guys really want a fat girl with the personality of tree stump?

@lafsp: Did you ever stop and think that perhaps she got heavy because of her pregnancy? Women do gain weight after having a baby. In any case, I think it's ridiculous to judge someone by their outer looks anyway. It's what's inside that counts.

Here is my question? How is Bristol a star - really a star?? I just don't see her as a star. But neither are lots of people that get on DWTS. Bristol should have never made it as far as she did - all political aspects aside - she was not a good dancer - PERIOD!

Margaret, Margaret, you came on the show as a second rate "entertainer and a loser. You left a winner and now you are reverting back. Another example of a loser who sabatoges themselves when they take a step up!

Cho is clearly trying to get her name in print. However, if Palin truly thinks that she lost the '08 election due to her then-pregnant teenage daughter she's even more dillusional than I initially thought. There were (and are still) thoudands of reasons not to vote for Palin and none of them have anything to do with her fame-seeking family.

No surprise. Sara Palin thinks she's so important that America will vote for her kids in contests, no matter how badly they do. He latest ego moment; however, outdoes even Bristol on Dancing With The Stars. She's claiming she'll do better as President because no one hacked her manuscript as she (with the help lots of ghost writers) wrote it. The last time I heard of hackers pursuing a manuscript, it had to do with a skinny kid and magic. But then Sara thinks she's more popular than Harry Potter. Hmmm. I can see it all: at Christmas, most people go to sleep dreaming of Santa Claus and sugar plums dancing in their heads. Sara imagines billions upon billions of dollars.
