Less than two years ago, Susan Boyle was just a small-town girl from Scotland without a recording contract or a personal stylist or any of the other luxuries of fame. Now she's riding high with a new album, and not even the latest record from the normally-dominant Black Eyed Peas can keep her from retaking the top spot on the Billboard 200 album chart. Neither BEP's 'The Beginning' nor 'Glee: The Music, Volume 4' are expected to outsell Boyle and top the charts, Billboard is reporting.
Boyle sold 653,000 copies of 'The Gift' in its first two weeks. In its third week, the set moved an additional 263,000, a huge number for sure, but not enough to stop Kanye West's 'My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy,' which debuted at No. 1 last week.

Though I am not a fan of Bolye's, I admire her achievments and am happy for her. Just shows that a simple woman with a great voice can out power all the over produced junk! Now that's awesome!

Justice in the music biz? Unheard of! Susan Boyle while not the best singer I've ever heard at least can sing a tune and be on frikin key! Congratulations well deserved.

The Human Cannon Ball does it again! This is terrible news, I mean where is Oprah winneferd & Will I Am's black power?

I did not enjoy her first musical release, however, the current track has been produced in an "Enya" style that is quite appealing and does showcase the vocal talent of this unpolished artist. The music industry as a whole should take note that the buying public do find it quite refreshing to hear an individual sing while not having to revert to a barage of visual theatrics to captivate their interest.

There are thousands of deserving artist far more talented than what's on the charts. The music industry is not going to bring a better crop to the table it's the fans that need to be heard with their wallets. Buy talent not manufactured crap.
Good. Now send the peas home and let Boyle sing at halftime at the Super Bowl.

RIGHT ON, BTDT~!! When I heard that those icky peas were making their voval noises (I refuse to call it singing) at the Super Bowl, I about got ill. If the Pats are in the Super Bowl, I HAVE to watch so I want to see Susan Boyle there singing and well deservedly and not the huge ego carrying big mouth will i am with icky Fergie and the rest of his vegetables totally ruining the half time show!
I would like to know who the "Peas" think they are stealing The Time of My Life, that song is sacred to Patrick Swayze and that movie, get your own songs "PEAS" are you that untalented!

They are that untalented !
Bonbon - exactly right! and don't forget that will i am obnoxious has already been taken to court a few time for ACTUALLY stealing other people's songs, HOW many times? What an insult to Patrick Swayze for them to make vocal noises - again, refuse to call it singing - to such a great song.

I enjoy the Black Eyed Peas but I'm glad to see someone how is simply a good singer making it to the top. No one appreciates talent these days. It's so easy to fake it with fancy costumes, lights and digital enhancements. …..She is a little hard on the eyes though lol but her voice is angelic

I think that Susan Boyle's done a good job so far with her album sales!

Ms. Boyle has a beautiful voice, why do they cover it up with the chorus? It would be nice to see her producers keep everything simple around her and let her voice and character shine through.

Ms Boyle has a voice given to pure tonal quality, the words she sings are understandable and relaxing to listen to. She excels above the echo chambered rubbish constantly heard in every place one goes. Why is it that nobody seems to be able to live without a radio on full bore even when they do not listen to it?

I agree. I think it's the tone of her voice that is so special, at least to me.
The tone of her voice seems kind of satin on velvet at the start, and then each phrase going high into crescendo. When she is good, she not just good, she is great! She's an emotional artist and, because of that is real and pure in her art...not always at all perfect...but with love somewhere there, reaching out to enfold us, the ones that really listen.
