So, you watched the impossibly random viral video starring just about every star ever singing 'Let It Be,' and were left wondering: how? How did 'Gylne Tider,' a TV show from Norway, convince stars like Glenn Close, Jason Alexander and Roger Moore to sing a Beatles classic to promote a show they've never seen? For one celebrity at least, it was one big fraud. 'Married With Children' actor David Faustino tells the Hollywood Reporter that he was duped by the disarming Norwegians after they said the whole thing was for charity.
"It was just one of those things that happened on the red carpet at some event, where a camera crew nabbed random, extremely gullible celebrities -- apparently like myself -- and asked them for an interview," TV's Bud Bundy says. After the interview, Faustino says they sprung the idea of singing 'Let It Be.' "They were, like, 'We're putting this video together and it's for charity.'"

As a Beatles fan & an even bigger Lennon fan, I am disgusted by this video. They are turning this song into total crap. The Beatles were legends. Now their music is on video games & itunes. Its all about making money. Its disgusting.

The video wasn't exactly for a show, it was a preview of all the things a certain channel or primetime spot is going to show over the next year, which explains all the seemingly random stars.
I will say, though, that as I am not a Beatles fan, watching this video marks the first time I've ever actually listened to "Let It Be," so it did do some good, for what it's worth.

I not only recognized every entertainer in the video, I thoroughly enjoyed all the performances.

The unfortunate thing is that charities may have been harmed by this, everybody is going to be wary of doing anything for charity now. :(
