Aaron Sorkin Calls Sarah Palin a 'Witless Bully'

Aaron Sorkin is known for his work as a wordsmith, and his latest attack on Sarah Palin keeps with his tradition of clever and cutting remarks.

Sorkin, who authored the acclaimed screenplay for recent box office hit 'The Social Network,' took to The Huffington Post to air his grievances about Palin's recent defense of her on-camera slaughter of a caribou on the most recent episode of 'Sarah Palin's Alaska.'

On Sunday, prior to the airing of the highly-promoted show, Palin tweeted, "Unless you've never worn leather shoes, sat upon a leather chair or eaten meat, save your condemnation of tonight's episode," to which Sorkin replied in a lengthy tirade entitled 'In Her Defense, I'm Sure the Moose Had it Coming.'

Sorkin, a self-proclaimed omnivore, balked at Palin's blanket assertion that no one who has used or eaten animal products has a right to critique the virtually-pornographic nature in which Palin's hunting adventure was portrayed.

"You weren't killing that animal for food or shelter or even fashion," he wrote. "You were killing it for fun. You enjoy killing animals."

Sorkin went on to criticize the former governor's motivation behind the segment, calling the animal "the first moose ever murdered for political gain."

"You knew there'd be a protest from PETA and you knew that would be an opportunity to hate on some people, you witless bully."

After successfully shooting the caribou, Palin said, "I feel a lot better now," and proceeded to pose for cheerful pictures with her kill. Of Palin's unnerving nonchalance, Sorkin wrote, "Like 95% of the people I know, I don't have a visceral (look it up) problem eating meat or wearing a belt. But like absolutely everybody I know, I don't relish the idea of torturing animals. I don't enjoy the fact that they're dead and I certainly don't want to volunteer to be the one to kill them and if I were picked to be the one to kill them in some kind of Lottery-from-Hell, I wouldn't do a little dance of joy while I was slicing the animal apart."

'The West Wing' creator also addressed one of the main criticisms of 'Sarah Palin's Alaska' -- that the show is not at all representative of Palin's own experience in the state as she often appears in awe of or learning the things she is supposed to be introducing audiences to. After calling her a "phony pioneer girl," Sorkin said, "I'm in film and television, Cruella, and there was an insert close-up of your manicure while you were roughing it in God's country. I know exactly how many feet off camera your hair and make-up trailer was."

Sorkin went as far as to disclose his 2001 arrest for cocaine possession in his rant, noting his assumption that it would be brought to light by Palin's people in response to his criticism.

Sorkin's final thoughts on the ordeal? "I eat meat, there are leather chairs in my office, Sarah Palin is deranged and The Learning Channel should be ashamed of itself." Read Sorkin's Full Post on HuffPo >>>

Maybe he just shouldn't watch her show then if he doesn't like it or her? Pretty simple solution I'd think? What business of it is his what Sarah Palin does?

It still doesn't undo the fact that Sarah Palin shot an animal for fun. If god made all creatures, I want to know why is it with god-fearing people that go hunting for fun and are racist towards other people...you know the other people god also made.

Actually, it isn't predictable at all. Whether your politics are liberal or conservative, Sarah Palin isn't very smart, doesn't use critical thinking, and hasn't shown an understanding of government or the United States Constitution. Pointing out that what she wrote on TWITTER about the condemnation, is further proof that she doesn't engage her intellect.
One shouldn't blindly defend someone simply because of her political affiliation. Use your intellect before you write.

Here are the new criteria for being a Republican:

1) don't be too educated.
"We like our leaders to be as dumb as us!"
2) "Man (or woMAN) up!"
"Prove you have balls by shooting a defenseless animal
for nothing more than sport." Ms. Palin sure wasn't
needing that meat to feed her multi million dollar family!
3) Persecute anyone on the left while you are screaming, "They
are biased, they are after me..... IT'S NOT FAIR!"

Hey!!! When Michel Vick killed a dog everyone went crazy, but palin kills a rain deer and it's alright. OK I don't really care what she do, just like I didn't care what Vick did. I just wish palin would stay her behind in Alaska and never return again.

I am not a dem but I am so glad Sorkin wrote what he did. TLC is no longer the learning channel - we knew that from the horrible realty tv shows i produced including John and Kate plus 8. But this show is a joke. If she was ever hoping to run for president she no longer has any credibility. Actually - I am really tired of her saying that the real americans only live in the middle and north western states. So just because I live in the NYC area, I am not a real american? Oh well. She is working her way up to be a talk show host or the next Ann Coulter.

Unfortunately saying that we should just not watch Palin's show will not make her go away. This is a new breed of cat and we will see more of her and if she possibly gets to run our country hang on to your hat.

He's absolutely right! So many of these self-proclaimed patriots are really just conservative zealots who wrap themselves in the flag and dare anyone to contradict them. She's just the most visible of these annoying jerks. I have nothing against conservatives, but I don't care for the one's who refuse to listen to dissenting views.
