Nick Lachey Learns It's Important to Like Your Wife's Parents

Nick Lachey isn't just looking forward to spending the rest of his life with soon-to-be wife, Vanessa Minnillo -- after an awful experience with ex father-in-law, Joe Simpson, Nick is excited to marry into a "normal" family.

"Vanessa's folks are so amazing," a friend of the future Mrs. Lachey tells me. "They are not parents who live through their daughter's success; they're not desperate to find a place for themselves in the entertainment business. They are simply parents who just want their daughter to be happy."

Vanessa's father, Vince Minnillo, was a member of the U.S. Air Force, stationed in the Philippines; he's a guy Nick respects so much he asked permission for his daughter's hand before popping the question to Vanessa herself.

"It's going to be a small, intimate wedding with just close friends and family," an insider tells me. "They would like it to be as private a day as possible." Unlike his first marriage to Jessica Simpson, where pictures and details were given to all media outlets, whether they wanted them or not.

"This time around there will be no reality show cameras or creepy father/managers lurking around making decisions on what is best for the couple's careers rather than their future," my source says. "Nick will once again take a back seat, but this time around it will be to his bride, not his father-in-law."

I think it is time to leave both Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson alone. Both have gone with their lives. I think that their marriage would have lasted if her father would not have interfered, but time moves on. I just hope Ms. Simpson knows what she is doing marrying a man she barely knows. I think she was jolted by her Ex's marriage announcement. At any rate God Bless Them All.

I don't believe this marriage with Jessica Simpson will last. I believe Nicks marriage will since he has been Vanessa for several years unlike Jessica. I think anybody that marries Jessica is also marrying her domineering father who does lives through his daughter and her success.

Vanessa's mother wasn't so amazing. She was a bar girl in the Pilipines who married Vanessa's solider father to gain American citizenship. She ran off and left Vanessa when she was only a baby and Jessica hasn't seen her since. Vanessa is a backstabbing homewrecker.

Oh ROB give it a rest. This is silly. You do whatever it takes to take a shot at the Simpsons & really NICK is not all that. I think Nick found out Jess & ERIC were at the restaurent that nite & showed up an hour later & left after Jess & Eric.. Nick is behind a lot of the crap that happens to Jessica.

Pay attention because everything Jess has said in the last two weeks is not what NICK is saying. Sadly you say you like Jessica but that is hard to believe.

Please do not have a baby!! Please do not give them a reality show about having a baby!! Noone gives a flying fig about Nick Lachey...what exactly has Nick lachey done except look pretty in front of the cameras? What exactly has Vanessa done except show up in pics cutting herself? I find this whole article ridiculous. Jess and Nick aren't teenagers. If they really loved each other both Nick and Jess should have stood up to papa Joe a long time ago. If me and my man loved each other there is no way I would allow my parents to drive us apart. This is about your happiness and your life. Nick gave Joe too much power and Jess is an idiot for never standing up to him and now she is engaged to a loser.
