Alyssa Milano may not possess all of the power of Phoebe Halliwell on 'Charmed,' but she is trying to put together a little magic to save the lives of a group of suffering dogs.Milano teamed up with Tonic to prevent a mass euthanasia to be carried out at the Harrison County Dog Pound in Cadiz, OH. The dogs in this facility are living in substandard conditions, kept outside in freezing temperatures, with their only water supply icing over and becoming undrinkable.
In addition to being exposed to the elements, many of the dogs are living in filth and are suffering from medical conditions that have gone untreated. Milano and Tonic are teaming up with California's Gentle Barn foundation to save the lives of these animals, who will be transported by Gentle Barn to a local vet for treatment as soon as foundation representatives arrive at the pound.

God bless her for helping the helpless dogs. The abusers will meet their Maker one day, and get what they deserve - nothing good, forever.

Surely u can't believe that anyone would be damned for eternity for abusing an animal. Not that this type of behavior should not be rectified, but i find it hard to believe anything can be considered "justified behavior" for an eternity of damnation. Use the brain that god gave u.
Allysa thank you for caring enough about animals, to do something to help these poor dogs. I just hate to hear of any animal suffering. Too many people talk about helping, but do nothing.

This breaks my heart. We do rescue work and things that go on are beyond belief. It is our duty to protect those that cannot protect themselves, children, elderly and animals.
I get so angry when I hear about abused dogs, breaks my heart. God bless you Alyssa, great thing you are doing.

Bless her and Tonic for saving them. The conditions described turned my stomach as did the photo of the pup trying to get out. It is heartbreaking.
Whoever owns and runs that shelter MUST be fined or jailed for animal abuse.
I hope that 'shelters' are monitored more carefully. These poor babies do not deserve living conditions like that...far from it. They deserve great love, and care.
Most often it is our 4 legged friends, not 2 legged ones who are loyal, and give unconditional love. People have a lot to learn from them.

I agree, Elizabeth! It breaks my heart to hear of anyone, let alone a g/d animal shelter, mistreating animals in this way. It makes me sick that no one is taking this animal shelter to task for the awful conditions. God bless Alyssa Milano and Popeater for bringing this situation to light.
Why do people own animals if they can't take care of them? Poor suffering dogs.

Thank you, PopEater, for posting this important information!! I immediately donated and posted it to social media, and then my dog-rescuing mom immediately donated and posted it to her facebook. Way to get the word out and support these poor dogs.

How about saving the millions of children suffering all over the world! This country is gone to the dogs in more than one way!

And people like you are part of the reason.
Hey stupid, the suffering of children and the suffering of animals is not mutually exclusive, please evolve.
There are groups of people that help children, the elderly, Veterans, etc. There's people advocating for every group imaginable. It doesn't mean that animal advocates aren't for children's welfare. But the animals are sentient beings and they have no voice so someone has to speak for them.
Btw, shouldn't the U.S. help their own right now instead of sending boatloads of money saving those in other countries when our own are perishing in this economy?
Thumbs up to Ms. Milano. I think I'll make a donation.

С удовольствием хотела бы сделать пожертвования, если бы могла. Но я студент и ничего не зарабатываю! Алиса умница, теперь я еще больше уважаю ее))
