James Franco Reflects on Watching Gigolo Have Sex

In 2010, James Franco has been the gift that keeps on giving, and this time it comes in form of male prostitution. In a televised interview with James Lipton for 'Inside the Actors Studio,' Franco reflects on the time when, researching a role, he ended up watching a gigolo have sex with a man.

"I found this guy that was kind of a perfect model," Franco said. "He claimed to service both males and females. He took me on one of his jobs."

At the time, Franco was studying for his role in 'Sonny,' where he played a male prostitute. To get a grasp for the part, Franco shadowed a gigolo in the back of a strip club, but things went a little further than he anticipated.

"The guy said, 'Oh, you wanna play a prostitute? You want some real research? Then come with us,'" Franco recalls. "It went down. Everything went down, as you see in the movies and hear about. The eerie thing is, it was like a movie, but it wasn't a movie -- it was the real thing, happening in front of me." Watch Franco tell the whole story after the jump.

When asked what turns Franco on (why, on 'Inside the Actors Studio? We're not sure...) the actor admitted to having strange furry temptations, saying, "Sometimes rabbits, like, turn me on. I don't know why."

We can only hope these kinds of stories leak out when he co-hosts the Academy Awards in February.

wow, way to lower the bar popeater. how do you not know the famous questions james lipton ends "inside the actor's studio" with? they are the same ten questions renowned french interviewer bernard pivot asked the people he interviewed in the 1970-1990s. being "turned on" in this case is not just sexual, but also in general, in life, and artistically.

So (a) this is a fairly old story -- I think most of the other outlets covered it months ago -- and (b) yes, Sonny TANKED shortly after it was released in 2002. I don't even remember it playing here in New Orleans where it was shot and set.
