Back in September, PopEater threw Justin Timberlake's name into the Oscar conversation hat for his role in the highly acclaimed 'The Social Network,' and now the pop star seems to have finally gotten the message. Reported last week by the New York Post, Timberlake is in full campaign mode to get a nomination at the 83rd annual Academy Awards, according to a Post source. "Sony is footing the bill for advertising the awards campaign, but Justin is also doing things his own way, including attending Academy screenings on his own and privately reaching out to award winners and Academy darlings Tom Hanks and Kevin Spacey for campaigning advice," a source said.
Timberlake laughed off our support for him on the red carpet for the premiere of 'The Social Network,' but now he's singing a different tune. PopEater launched a Facebook campaign for him back in September, and the numbers are steadily growing. Join here.

This is stupid. Michael Douglas is anything BUT a lock, just someone may be nominated partly for sympathy, partly for resurrecting that character. Andrew Garfield will DEFINITELY be nominated for The Social Network, as will Bale and Rush as you correctly mentioned. If Mark Ruffalo doesn't get nominated, it won't be JT's fault. And Jeremy Renner is looking like a stronger possibility if the Academy goes for The Town. I will be highly shocked and disappointed if Timberlake is nominated for this nothing of a performance, and I LIKE JT.

Also, your grammar sucks: "either...and"???

Timberlake is a clown. He's a wannabe. He's not that good, IMO.

They just wanna nominate him so he can get beat and get his silly following wrapped up.

there's only ever been six other singers nominated for an acting oscar and 4 of them won correct those be Judy Garland nominated and lost twice Bing Crosby nominated and lost in concecutive years & for the same Character Frank Sinatra won best supporting actor in 1954 for From Here To Eternity Barbara Streisnad won best actress in 1969 Tied with Katherine Hepburn for Funny Girl Cher Won Best Actress in 1988 for Moonstruck and Jennifer Hudson won best supporting actress in 2006 for Dreeamgirls. Justin can't act to save his life so if he actually waltzed away with an oscar the motion picture academy would look incredibly stupid. kind of like Oliver winning best picture for 1968 when Lion In Winter Or Rachel Rachel deserved it so much more.

With the way they've been handing out undeserved awards over the last 10 years. he stands as good a chance as any actually. Jennifer Hudson couldn't act her way out of a paper bag when she won and her singing was highly overrated as well. Anything's possible in this lame era of Hollywood.
He's having wet dreams and anxiety attacks just imagining what it would be like to get ahold of Oscar's knob.

Justin is also doing things his own way, including attending Academy screenings on his own. I think a performance should stand on it's own and may the best actor win. Campaigning for an award, that seems a lot like an inglorious bastard. And He doesn't want to have a boy toy on his arm while campaigning.

What an egotistical prick. Jesse Eisenberg and Andrew Garfield gave way better performances than him, hell even that stupid chick from the Disney Channel did better and you don't see any of them boasting of their performances.
