Madonna on Piers Morgan CNN Ban: Who?

Piers Morgan, the British 'America's Got Talent' judge set to replace Larry King on CNN in January, has told Britain's the Daily Express that Madonna is banned from his new program. "She is so boring," Morgan told the newspaper. "She is too vegan for TV. We have Lady Gaga now so Madonna is banned from my show."

Well, it seems the Queen of Pop isn't exactly sweating Morgan's trash talk, as her publicist Liz Rosenberg tells PopEater's own Naughty But Nice Rob Shuter exclusively, "Madonna doesn't know who Piers Morgan is but she's a big fan of Lady Gaga."

Meow!

The cutting remark came at a party in London, where Morgan was celebrating his new CNN gig. Morgan went on to say that he would prefer to interview President Barack Obama, Mel Gibson and Lindsay Lohan or "whoever is in the news who is relevant and current."

Interestingly, Her Madgesty, whose 2008-09 'Sticky & Sweet' world tour is the top-grossing by a solo artist in music history and who was recently named to Time Magazine's list of the 25 most powerful women of the last century -- one of only two singers on the list (the other is Aretha Franklin) and one of only nine still living -- isn't the only prominent media figure scratching their head over King's replacement.

Back in October, during an interview on 'Larry King Live' to talk about his "Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear," 'Daily Show' host Jon Stewart mocked Morgan to a flabbergasted King, saying, "By the way, I think they've [CNN] made a brilliant choice by bringing in a British guy no one's ever heard of. When I'm thinking about floating a sinking ship, what do I want to bring on it: A guy that people are going to tune in and go, 'Who's that, and why is he speaking so funny?'"

Why do all these supposed "American" shows have English people as hosts??
For instance, Americas Got Talent (Sharon Osbourne), American Idol (Simon Cowell), and theres a dance show that is hosted by a Brit too.
Im sure theres more - cant think of them ....

I certainly understand why Piers would be replacing Larry King... he'll probably do a good job. What I don't get at all is how he can be so Cavalier about such a highly respected entertainer as Madonna, who has so many time set the world on its ear just to turn around and do it even more interestingly and differently a year or two later. As much as I respect Piers; I think he got this one all wrong.

I was surprise what Piers Morgan said about Madonna. As Madoona still is entertaining after all these years so Piers is wrong and what he said. I like Pires Morgan not a fan of America's Got Talent.

Madonna the entertainer yes, Singer, not so much. About 20 years ago a fan who bought tickets to a Madonna concert sued the organizers of the concert for the cost of the 2 tickets. Why?? Because it became apparent that Madonna was lip-synching . What came out of the trial utilizing her very high-priced music industry lawyers was this. Defense's argument stated that even if the promotional posters and flyers used the word "live" on them ~ that does not mean the artist would sing live. It only guarantees the artist will appear on stage. As a result of this ruling the judge concluded that a ticket holders pays for lights , laser, back-up singer, dancers , costumes, pyrotechnics and camaraderie of the shared experience. He also concluded that a concert should include 10 percent live music. If you include the opening band that means most folks who go to a Madonna concert could hear her sing 2 live songs at most. Though it was kept hush-hush this is now the standard in the industry. Its also why I'm very picky on who's concert I'm willing to shell out the dough for.

Piers is just trying to drum up a little attention for his new show. He is very capable and will do a great job. He is also a smart businessman and knows that he needs to get attention in order to draw viewers. its just business folks.

Piers Morgan is a chubby, fatuous, effete poser with little talent. Madonna has been making top-selling music for 30 years.
He wants to interview Lady Gaga and Lindsay Lohan? Please. Piers should be more concerned with having anyone at all watch his show. Larry Kings's demographics and Pier's are probably equally decrepit.
