Friends of newlywed Nicole Richie tell me the reality star-turned-author agonized for months over whether or not to invite once-BFF Paris Hilton to her wedding to Joel Madden on Saturday, but at the last minute decided it would be best for everyone if the hotel heiress didn't attend."Nicole is in a very different place in her life from when she was hanging out with Paris. She's the mother of two and now a wife while Paris seems to be in exactly the same spot she was in five years ago. Still partying in Vegas and getting into trouble with the law," a friend of Nicole's tells me.

Exactly. Friends go different ways sometimes. Some grow up, some don't. Hope Nicole continues to grow up and be the best mom and wife she can be. Paris is just a waste of air.

nicole could have invited paris, nobody is trying to drag nicole out to a club, but nicole forgot who her friends are. and yes friends can lead a different life from yours. i have friends who smoke but i don't. you don't have to do what your friends do. but i do know marriages don't last today and nicole will need her true friends again, she needs to think about that.

i agree with you, nicole could have invited paris to the wedding, it would have been a nice thing for her to do. it's not like paris is trying to drag nicole out to a club or party! they are living different lives, but nicole forgot her friends who stood by her way back when and she will need paris and her sister nikki again, afterall marriages don't always last. and nicole just crapped all over paris, shame on nicole!

If it wasn't for Paris getting in trouble with the law every other month, we wouldn't know who Paris was.

I think it's great that Nicole cut that Parasite Paris loser Hilton out of her life. It's not that she's better then "the Skank", she's moved on and wants to set a good example for her children. Nicole totally grew up and doesn't want the drugs around her little children, Paris continues to get into trouble and had the drugs on her is still the Party girl and doesn't want to grow up.

I think the ban occurred because Paris is so much hotter than Nicole. (No surprise there...she's pretty much hotter than any woman.) That's the reason for the ban.
