Oprah's New Trailer Showcases Her OWN Stars

Oprah fans can dry their tears about the looming end to the most popular daytime talk show in history and clear their schedules for the new year.

Oprah Winfrey's OWN network launches Jan. 1, and the first trailer showcasing the network's programming slate serves up a potluck stew of stars -- everyone from Black Eyed Peas maestro will.i.am (who contributes the single 'Own It' as a network anthem), Wynonna Judd and her mama Naomi (starring in the original OWN series 'The Judds'), Fergie, the fallen Duchess of York ('Finding Sarah'), Carson Kressley, Nancy O'Dell, Suze Orman, Dr. Oz, Dr. Phil McGraw and more. Plus: lots of hugs, makeovers and learning.

A series called 'Masterclass' will air documentary-style interviews with icons at the top of their field, including Maya Angelou, Jay-Z and Diane Sawyer. The network also promises 'Why Not? With Shania Twain,' 'Ryan and Tatum: The O'Neals,' 'Our America with Lisa Ling' and 'The Gayle King Show.'

A BIG WHO CARES what this woman does. Another person who does not matter in the grand scheme of things. I would not walk across the street to see ANY of her shows or look at her. I guess it is important to some people what she does. There are FAR too many things going on in this world or Country to worry about some stupid new network she starts.

Like it or not, Oprah is a icon of our society. She is "the first" in so many catergories they are too many to mention. She has proven to be an inspiration to soooo many people! And influenced our culture in so many ways. This is seen by her continued popularity. She has defied the odds and silenced her critics and defeated her enemies time and time again. She remains aforce to be recond with years after her rivals have fallen by the wayside. I am not a fan nor do I watch her show. But, I do respect the fact that she has been able to DO something that most of us merely TALK about, that is "Live Her Dream"!!! So, I say much success!

Oprah has had nothing new to say in many years. Her desire to "OWN" the world is taking one of the few worthwhile stations off the air. I for one prefer to watch the informatiove shows on DHC. I will never tune into to OWN. If the shows mentioned in this article are what's in store there it won't be too hard to stay away. They are no match for the programming on Discovery Health Channel.
