Will NYC 'Housewives' Be as Good Without Bethenny?
As the cast of the 'Real Housewives of New York City' busies themselves with shooting the next season of the reality hit, Bravo insiders wonder if the show will still be ratings gold without its breakout star, Bethenny Frankel.
"Bethenny is the biggest star the franchise has ever produced," a Bravo insider tells me. "She not only connected with the most fans, but she also allowed the audience to laugh at how ridiculous the other ladies are. Without Bethenny making fun of the cast, the show just won't be as much fun."
For Bravo, a main concern is who will play foil to rival Kelly Bensimon and her oft-erratic (but always entertaining) behavior on a Bethenny-less 'Housewives.'
"Without Bethenny on the show, Kelly's strange behavior is no longer funny, it's just annoying," my source concedes.
Insiders tell me that after Bravo caught a glimpse of how the new season is going, they have asked Bethenny to return for more than the six appearances she is contractually obligated to make. But she wants to phase that part of her life out.
"Bethenny is done with that show," a friend of the new mom and wife (to Jason Hoppy) tells me. "She is focused on her own show, writing her books and being the best mom and wife she can be. Every time she thinks about going back into that toxic environment it makes her feel physically sick."
I'm told Bethenny loves Bravo and is very appreciative at how the network changed her life (and made her rich), and that she will probably agree to make more guest appearances on 'Housewives.'
"But in her heart she wishes she could just move on," a friend tells me. "To tell the truth, she doesn't even want to watch the new season let alone be forced to be part of it."

Frankly who cares??? There are to many "housewives" shows on anyway. That could be one down and the rest to follow.
Then we can get rid of Jersey Shore, Jerseylious, any other Jersey shows, Kate plus 8 or whatever they are calling it now, and the rest of these no talent (15 minutes of fame idiots)shows. The list goes on forever.
Dead air would be better than all of these reality shows

Seriously??? I had stopped watching because of Bethenny. She's on Skating with the Stars and she is the biggest star the franchise has produced, really?? Please define what star means in 2010? No its not Jill and I don't live in NY but please just let Bethenny go away quickly and quietly and maybe she can take Danielle with her...

This was a crappy show when she was on it and it will be a crappy show when she is gone. All I know is, she better save up all those pay checks she getting, cause she is used up by Hollywood or her when start looking "Long in the Tooth", she's a goner!

I love Bethenny and Jason. They are wonderful together and you can see her feistiness; which does not take away from her true love for her husband, baby and in-laws. She doesn't belong with the NY housewives who are superficial and boring.

Fugly...funny word, describes her to a tee...what is up with the above picture? Does she have 2 marbles in her cheeks? This is one fugly JAP!! That's what this ungrateful rag is!! Never watched the HW BS..but started to watch the skating show, till I noticed this JAP was on, thinking she should and would win....Please, get this crap off the TV Bravo....then I'll say BRAVO!!

Bethany is my favorite. She is the prettiest, and the most sensible. The show won't interest me anymore with her missing.

Bethany was always my favorite- I will miss her on the new series. Love all the "Housewives" shows except New Jersey's- they need to get some good looking people on there-not losers.

The only reason I watch the show is because of Bethany. The other women just like to try and out do each other and back stab each other. Bethany is down to earth, says it the way it is and is really funny. I watch her show and never miss it. She now has a loving, beautiful family. Why would she want to be part of the other show. But, if she does return for some of the shows I will watch. If not, no way!

What is that saying - "A legend in her own mind". That's Bethenny. And now she gets to use her husband and baby, too. Oh well, she's parlayed her using others into making very good money. Perhaps the people she's using won't end up resenting her.

Not interested in Betheny (permanent mumps, chipmunk cheeks)Frankel, nor Ramona (bug-eyed freakazoid), Louanne (the uncountess of Nothingham), Jill (the queen of whine and her husband who mentally undresses nutcase Kelly every chance he gets), and the other couple (whose name I can't for the life of me remember because they are just so damned unimportant to me...You know, the wannabe social climbers who fail so miserably)...not going to watch any of this crap anymore because it is just so irritating!

I don't think Bethenny added a thing to NY housewives. She was horrible in the skating thing and her own show was not good.

Let's get serious...Bethenny and Jill WERE the best part of the series! I hope Jill and Bethenny have mended a great friendship; regardless of R.H. That show will NEVER be as good. I watched "B. Getting Married?" and hope IT RETURNS! It is so funny,real,and entertaining.
PS Bravo...get RID of Kelly, already!!!
