Kevin Spacey (Sort of) Addresses Gay Rumors in Interview

The rumors regarding Kevin Spacey's sexuality have officially been reignited. In a new interview with openly gay
Daily Beast writer Kevin Sessums, the two-time Academy Award winner made pains to not directly come out, but did talk candidly about his right to privacy when it comes to his sexual orientation. When Sessums told Spacey that there's no shame in joining the gay "tribe," the actor deflected without denying it.
"Look, I might have lived in England for the last several years but I'm still an American citizen and I have not given up my right to privacy," Spacey said.
But Sessums didn't back down, telling the actor that being gay doesn't have to be a private matter, and Spacey calmly argued the opposite.
"People have different reasons for the way they live their lives," Spacey said. "You cannot put everyone's reasons in the same box. It's just a line I've never crossed and never will."
Spacey has battled
gay rumors for more than ten years, and they're certainly not likely to stop after this interview.
Later, when Sessums admitted to quitting acting because he was gay and didn't want to live a lie, Spacey argued that privacy isn't lying.
"I don't live a lie. You have to understand that people who choose not to discuss their personal lives are not living a lie," Spacey said. "That is a presumption that people jump to."
Near the end of the interview, the actor closed the discussion of sexuality by suggesting there may be more to him than meets the eye.
"Look, at the end of the day people have to respect people's differences," Spacey said. "I am different than some people would like me to be."

Who Cares! Kevin is great in all his movies and television appearances. I'm over the
"Gay or Not" questions to people in the limelight. Can these interviewers actually
ask a question that has relevance to a person's profession? It's gonna get to the point
that no one in the entertainment business is gonna talk to the press any longer. Why
should they when the can just blog and let the press sit and wonder.

I love Kevin Spacey, and it doesn't matter to me whether he is gay or straight. It shouldn't matter to anybody else either. Does it change his acting ability? He is a person just like everyone else. He is what he is and that is that. It isn't ANYBODY'S business to know whether somebody is gay or straight. It is not our job to judge either.
(I am happily married just in case I need to defend myself)

I do care if Kevin is gay, as I dont want to watch gay porn either, nor do I choose to support gay rights, as there aren't straight rights, or white people rights, so why be so gullible in supporting someone that takes it up the butt or in the mouth at the same time.

name a single celebrity who has EVER gone the "that's private" route, then turned out to be straight..by not answering it, he's answered it..nevertheless...a brilliant actor..a very sharp, insightful man..you're one of my favorites, Mr. Spacey

I don't care if he's gay, straight, bi or asexual. He's a good actor and from what I can tell, a decent human being. He shouldn't have to announce his sexuality just to please nosey reporters or curious fans.

Who cares? I love his acting...he is fabulous. I guess I'm wondering why his sexuality matters to anyone...unless they're interested.

He's gay, saw him in an airport with his partner at the time. We all rode on the same plane from Miami to Jacksonville when he was shooting that film in florida about the election. I think it was called Recount. The guy he was with was young, attractive and obviously very close to him. Kevin's a great actor. Who cares!

Kevin is a bit over rated i think, but agree with him, not everyone needs to know everything about everyone. He deserves to have some privacy, but hes put his life out there being an actor. Whatever makes him happy! Its his life....

I am not gay and find it kind of repulsive personally but this is so typical. He obviously is and does not want to say so, and this jerk interviewer, who is so proud to say he is, can't wait to pull everyone along with him as if it is something to stand up for and be proud of. Most guys also don't walk around saying they are straight and picked up on a nice woman the night before but the gays have to put it out there, which is perhaps one, of many, but still one, that turn me off on these guys soooooo much. I guess the same applies to all kinds of things but why push an issue that nobody cares about simply to try and make him say it.
