Scarlett Johansson, Ryan Reynolds Doing 'Really Well'

shocking -- split,
Scarlett Johansson and
Ryan Reynolds are doing just fine.
Sources tell
The New York Daily News that they are handling their breakup "really well."
Filming schedules that kept them apart and infidelity rumors doomed the pair, who married in 2008. (Recent reports suggested that Reynolds was involved with his 'Green Lantern' co-star Blake Lively.)
But insiders say that they tried to resuscitate their marriage before ultimately deciding to end it.
According to friends, Scarlett began therapy two months ago, but couldn't make the union work. The couple even took time before Thanksgiving to deal with their issues.
They spent Thanksgiving in New York City with Johansson's family and "tried to hold it together" for the celebration. After the holiday, however, Reynolds left New York but returned at the end of November when the actress asked for a divorce.
Reynolds balked at the idea and said they "should avoid it at all costs," the friend said, so the two decided on a trial separation. The insider added that at the end of the period, the actor decided to grant Johansson a divorce.
The 'Lost in Translation' starlet is currently in Jamaica with friends.

I think the problem with their marriage was that they were both in love with the same person: Ryan Reynolds, and they probably both discovered that it wasn't worth the effort.
You can't cure smug, and Ryan Reynolds has that in spades.

If it's true that he cheated after less than two years, then I don't blame her for leaving. At least, she gave it a try. What would he be doing in three years . . or five? What a sad sack he must be and I really think he's going to suffer this loss. Who'd be dinky enough to take a chance on a man like that now with what the world now knows.

The very fact that separation is a huge part of their livelihood
and romantic contact with co-workers make staying pure almost impossible. It isn't always the man who decides first to stray.

At times I feel that after the preacher says: "I now pronounce you man and wife" that he should should say "Ok, let's flip a coin to see what your chances of a successful marriage are".

I think scarlett deserves what happened to her, karma is a b***h. She was after all the cause of Reece Witherspoon's break up with Ryan Phillipe. How does it feel Scarlette to have your marriage destroyed by infedelity? Perhaps now you will empathize with married women before you take their husbands from them. Frankly Scarlett, I don't give a damn.

I don't think Johansson was ready to be married. She appears to be a bit immature. A month or so after she got engaged to Reynolds, she told Politico she'd been exchanging emails with Obama - when in fact she didn't have his email address and Obama replied to only one of the emails she'd been sending to him bout addressing to one of his aides.
Earlier this year, Reynolds said during an interview that he was looking forward to having kids - and she tells a reporter not long after that she's not getting pregnant ANY time soon. Seems like that's something you ought to tell your husband in private, not in public. Then there are the uh 'interesting' stories in entertainment news (if you can believe them) about her unannounced visits to the Green Lantern set. Frankly, I'm surprised it lasted two years.
