Julianne Hough's Music Video Too Hot for CMT?

Julianne Hough shed some clothes in the video for her latest single, 'Is That So Wrong,' and according to reports it was too wrong for Country Music Television (CMT). The video features the former 'Dancing With the Stars' beauty playfully romping around her apartment wearing next to nothing and showing off some sexy dance moves.

Julianne hinted at a ban in Baltimore last weekend during a radio-sponsored Christmas concert. "This next song -- funny story," she told the packed audience. "I shot a music video for it, and Country Music Television banned it. Apparently, I was taking off too many clothes as I was dancing across my bedroom."

But CMT denies any ban has occurred, instead telling CNN that they aren't playing 'Is That So Wrong' because of a hiccup in contract negotiations. It comes down to this: CMT and its parent company MTV are currently in talks with VEVO, which distributes all videos from Hough's label. Until that can be worked out, no Julianne in her underwear for you!

The network is not the only one shying away from the clip, as it is also NOWHERE to be found on YouTube or the video search engine Truveo and has been removed from several other websites. One of the only sites still hosting the video is the not-shady-sounding-at-all YouClubVideo.com, which given the flood of traffic today is predictably having a hard time staying online.

I agree, it is a poor role model and so not needed. The girl has talent and I hope she doesn't waste it on porn. I am glad cmt banned it,its time to stand up for morals in this country and let our girls know they don't have to strip to be somebody. I want my granddaughters to grow up proud women, strong women, and not have to dress or act like porm stars to achieve there goals in life.

I'm with the majority - it was too racy. Would be nice if like minded people would call/email FOX, ABC, NBC etc and let them know that we don't need naked people parading around on TV or in videos. The beep out cuss words but cuss words don't entice the young ones to make babies when they're still babies. I don't get why the FCC finds words more harmful than flesh.

The woman is beautiful, and she obvioulsy knows it.
Shes crying for attention, like some others have before her in the music business.
Its sad for a singer, to feel the need to strip down so her song will sell. Or shes so hung up on herself, that she feels like she doing everyone a favor, by letting the world see her like this??
Its kind of pathetic.

I don't think the video needed to be banned, however I do think the dancing and rolling around just didn't seem to work with the song. It was very distracting from her voice. She is very pretty, and her voice seems to be good enough to stand on its own without all the other nonsense.

she didnt get as undressed as some other stars who feel they have to sell sex to be a success however the video was GOOOOOFY!! dance didnt match the song, looked like she was trying way to hard.

So sad to continue to see that woman think they have to take off their clothes to make themselves more appealing to the audience. Your voice is lovely you body is lovely but I'm sorry we don't need to see it. I'm tired of trying to raise up daughters and having to keep them from thinking this is what a woman does to feel beautiful and desired. KNOCK IT OFF HOLLYWOOD!

You have to be kidding me! With all the sexual and lewd content they show today on TV, this is mild, and no big deal. Julianne is just dancing in a pair of short shorts, and takes a blouse off. She didn't show her breasts or her vagina, so what's so wrong with that. They show breasts all the time, and bare rear ends. It's their loss if they don't want to show the video. I think you'll see them reconsider shortly, as it would be a very popular video.

Sadly a poor choice by her career coaches.

Although you can see people with less on at beach...beginning a new career, bulk of emphasis should be on raw talent, not a strip tease.

CMT...good grief...not for you to decide! Clearly a political choice...

Could it be (heaven forbid) the CMT network is firmly in the grip of some sort of "old boy/old girl" country folks who simply resent Julianne as an outsider made good with her fan base??
If so, too bad such meaness prevails in the industry.

CMT you have got to be kidding me! I won't make reference to any other artists that have shown way more of themselves. What I will say is that she is showing less skin in this video than she would be in a bikini. Even if she had more clothes on in the video after your network, or any other for that matter, played the video, the paparazzi would then be looking for the pics of her in the bikini so that the very people watching the video would have something else to look at of her.

I think you got it way wrong. She isn't rolling around that apartment with anyone else like we have seen so many times before in videos.

Can I just say what I'm most disappointed in for this video was the advertising- seriously? The first 20 seconds looks like we're about to hear a spiel over the newest Honda. I don't think the loss of clothing was that bad, but the rolling around was annoying. When I hear a new song for the first time I want to hear the lyrics, have a video portray the emotion behind it- but I had to go listen a separate time (without the video) to know what the hook line was because it's so distracting watching her flip around. Yes, she is an incredible dancer, and blooming artist, and on stage, I'm sure an arrangement could be made to include more dancing, but on video it's a mess. If she wants to be known for her dancing, stick to that- but if you're aiming for a breakout career singing, show us that first and foremost- make your voice the star of the show, as that's what a singer does. You can be both, just don't belt out a tune while flipping backwards on a couch and performing a needless strip. Your audience deserves more than that!

WOW What rock are some of you folks living under.CMT you got this one dead wrong just watch and see.A well written song,a beautiful voice singing it,and beautiful scenery both the artist and the view from the apartment.Now about the clothing she was taking off i must have missed something because i could have swore all of her private parts were covered. And if you have been to the malls during the summer time or down on broadway during fan fest you can see just as much skin if not more and by the way the people on broadway are the tourist and fans who have came to town to celebrate their love for country music and buy the videos and cd's.I suppose if her name had been Taylor and she had been dressed like a thuggish white girl in the hood doing a rap video it would have been ok and that one even aired on national tv dang and that was during a CMT award show. Wake up people...

CMT over reacted. This is actually still a little tame by todays standards. She had my attention and the song is pretty good too
