Michael Douglas was spotted at Disney World recently, confined to a mobility scooter while wife Catherine Zeta-Jones and their two children explored the park and its rides. The 66-year-old star has been on the mend after battling throat cancer for much of 2010. "While Douglas appeared energized for the cameras, posing in a number of set-up shots, behind-the-scenes his recovery was taking its toll," RadarOnline.com reports.
An onlooker told Radar that Douglas "looked frail and sick -- he most definitely looked like he needed the wheelchair."
According to close friend Allen Burry, Douglas has been on a strength-building diet after his intensive chemotherapy and radiation treatments.
"Michael has to eat a lot now to gain back the weight and help him find his strength again," Burry says. "That's one of the hardest things when you have been through the medication and treatment. He needs to gain weight."

Although you aren't exactly a hero to me, I do really like your acting and the movies you have made A LOT. I wish you well and hope you are feeling much better very, very soon. We aren't finished with you yet! All best.

Sending prayers and best wishes to an amazingly talented man whom I've spent most of my life watching on television and in film! Those wishes, btw, extend to the lovely Catherine and their children. God be with you in this time of healing!

Please give him a break. The man has had major surgery, chemo and radiation. Is he supposed to be doing hand springs 2 weeks after he finishes treatment? I'm in "good" health at 50 and could have used one of those scooters at Disney. It's a huge place to walk and the weather is hot and humid. I applaud Mr. Douglas for being a trooper and showing his kids a good time after all the family has been through.

well said. Maybe they should just let him mend and leave him alone. The Pess just doesn't quit and by the wasy why was he in Disney World soon?
Michael just went through cancer treatments, he's in his 60's with two little kids and after a few hours at Disney, even I (with my bad back) could use a wheelchair! They rent them to anyone - you don't need a doctors note. Lets just wish the man and his family well and leave him alone to recover however he can. Best of everything to you Michael and regards to your family! Bella T

If he does not die from this I will be amazed.I always try to be positive but with this cancer, not so much. My father in law had the same disease minus the throat tumor and he did not live to see 72. He went through chemo, radiation and all that Michael has gone through as well...I wish Michael well but again since I have seen this diesease take my father in law I am realistic in what this cancer does to someone...it is a killer and hard to treat. Good luck Michael...you need all the luck you can get.

i bet your father in law smoked and drank as well.
thejake, that was kind of a jerk thing to add, couldn't you have just zipped it or thought of something even slightly sympathetic to say?
Your contrived "good luck" is a piece of crap after you stated that you'd be amazed if he didn't die.
Just remember, karma is a bigger b!otch than anybody can ever be.
Hope & prayers for your recovery. And strength to all your loved ones.

Good wishes to Mr. Douglas; he has had a very tough time. Hopefully he will continue to mend and have an enjoyable holiday season with his family.

The cancer was already at stage IV when it was diagnosed, if he does survive this it will be very surprising.
Mark, I was given 6 months in July 2003 with stage 4 colon cancer. It can be beaten !!!
Actually, it's an encouraging sign he was able to get out and experience such a hectic place at all. Go Michael!

Leave him alone! The man is going through terrible poisonous treatments. How would you feel if you where doing harsh chemo, it's not a picnic, people do get sick and can die from the treatments alone. Get off of his back and let him spend some time with his family. I'm an advocate for cancer patients and it is a life changing horrible disease.

I wish everyone would just respect their privacy
during this Holiday season. The greatest gift we can give the Douglas family is privacy and our
prayers.
