Michael Douglas was spotted at Disney World recently, confined to a mobility scooter while wife Catherine Zeta-Jones and their two children explored the park and its rides. The 66-year-old star has been on the mend after battling throat cancer for much of 2010. "While Douglas appeared energized for the cameras, posing in a number of set-up shots, behind-the-scenes his recovery was taking its toll," RadarOnline.com reports.
An onlooker told Radar that Douglas "looked frail and sick -- he most definitely looked like he needed the wheelchair."
According to close friend Allen Burry, Douglas has been on a strength-building diet after his intensive chemotherapy and radiation treatments.
"Michael has to eat a lot now to gain back the weight and help him find his strength again," Burry says. "That's one of the hardest things when you have been through the medication and treatment. He needs to gain weight."

I think it's great that he is out and about with his family; if that is him in the picture? I don't trust media at all. I pray for his full recovery. God speed, Michael Douglas.

What a horrible article! I think its great that he was able to go to Disney World with his family. Disney World requires A LOT of exhausting walking for even healthy people. Of course he needed the scooter as he recovers. My family went to Disney after my husband had cancer and I forced him to use the scooter to preserve his energy so we could have a nice family vacation. It was the smartest move in the world, and after a few days of constant running around on sore feet my daughter and I were fighting him to get to use that scooter next! I am so glad Michael Douglas got to go on the trip and who cares if he was in a scooter!

God Bless. All cancers are bad, but throat cancer is especially so. Its amazing what the medical research and doctors can do nowadays. My buddy went thru throat cancer treatments (surgery, chemo, and radiation) in 2009. The treatments were very tough on his body, but he's alive and recovering. Hopefully, Michael Douglas will do as well.

one of the biggest problems with young writters that work for AOL is that they are very young and insensitive to the older populations of Americans, regardless of there status in life.

Mr. Douglas: Pull a Gordan Gecco on that cancer and GET WELL SOON !!!!!

Stage IV is the final stage so unless a miracle occurs he is pretty much done for. My older brother was in stage IV for three years after being diagnosed and chose to have no treatment at all. For him it was a quality of life issue.I wouldn't wish those years on my worst enemy!

The truth is no one but Michael, and his family and doctors, know exactly how Michael is doing.
If Michael wanted everyone to know how he is doing, he would have done a press conference by now. This is a private matter for the family only.
Michael and his family, will be in my prayers tonight.

"Michael Douglas confined to a mobility scooter." I was lmao when
I read that sentence. My husband and I went to Disney World, in April and in October of this year. On both occasions, I rented a scooter, and although it helped me get around, b/c of my bad neck
and back I certainly wasn't "confined" to it. Neither was Michael
Douglas! Do you know JUST how many people rent those scooters? There are as many scooters rented by folks in Disney, as baby carriages, if not more! Just b/c you're in a scooter doesn't mean
you are wheelchair bound! Get your facts straight! I wish Michael Douglas the best of everything, and a quick recovery!!!!
