Michael Douglas was spotted at Disney World recently, confined to a mobility scooter while wife Catherine Zeta-Jones and their two children explored the park and its rides. The 66-year-old star has been on the mend after battling throat cancer for much of 2010. "While Douglas appeared energized for the cameras, posing in a number of set-up shots, behind-the-scenes his recovery was taking its toll," RadarOnline.com reports.
An onlooker told Radar that Douglas "looked frail and sick -- he most definitely looked like he needed the wheelchair."
According to close friend Allen Burry, Douglas has been on a strength-building diet after his intensive chemotherapy and radiation treatments.
"Michael has to eat a lot now to gain back the weight and help him find his strength again," Burry says. "That's one of the hardest things when you have been through the medication and treatment. He needs to gain weight."

I also wish Kirk well. Love him, too. I've been trying to catch up on his movies, hoping to find the one from a few years back with all 3 of them. (Kirk, Michael and Cameron). Can't remember the name, but my mom and me got a kick out of it. Reminded us of, well, US! The female version of course. Just had to add this...my apologies!

We all will keep Mr. Douglas in our prayers. I always admired his movies and acting skills. He and his family will be our prayers this Christmas season and always. Good luck and the very best of wishes.

Michael..I'm not sure if you're a religious man or a believer but with God anything is possible...including a miracle of healing...if you have ever listened to Joel Osteen you can hear him talk about his mother's miracle...the doctors gave her 6 weeks to live and that was over 25 years ago.
my prayers are with you, your lovely wife and children.

When people are suffering if you can't be kind then just be quiet. It is beyond evil when people want to add pain to something already causing so much grief. May God give direction to the family and give them peace in this bad time.

How long can anyone be at Disney and need a break That place will wear you down. As for Michael Douglas, he has been through a lot and he won't go anywhere til it is his time. Prayers to you to endure whatever life has in store for you.

I happened to be at Disney when they were there and actually saw them a couple times. He was not "confined to the scooter," he was using it to get around. I saw him on a couple rides at 3 different parks (I swear I wasn't stalking them, I just happened to notice them all over the place). People want to make it seem like he's on his death bed, but that just isn't true. Of course he's going to get tired more easily after going through 8 weeks of kemo and radiation treatments. Hell, I saw a lot of 20-30 year old people using those scooters in the parks that looked closer to being on their death bed because they all weighed 600lbs. Disney is a huge place, and anyone can get tired walking around those parks. More power to Michael for doing it, and the fact that he's able to handle a couple days in Disney around Thanksgiving time shows that he's regaining strength because that isn't an easy feat.

My husband had cancer, advanced colon cancer, and is well today. But he had a heart attack following his cancer treatment because he did what Michael Douglas is doing, trying to keep up all kinds of activities, trying to lead a normal life while healing. Healing should not be part of a normal life, it is a time to rest, rest, rest, eat healthy foods, and do not think of working, jogging, traveling, it is really a time to take it really easy, I am writing this from experience. If Michael Douglas takes the time to heal, then he will be able to lead a normal life. All the best to him and his family, he has been part of our life through his movies for many years, and we owe him hours of good entertainment when we were allowed to forget our troubles and lose ourselves through a good movie, and as you know, all his movies are simply excellent.

Of course, all the other roles you played were great too. I wish you the best in life. My prayers to you for a lasting & great recovery.
