Bristol Palin: I'm Thrilled About Levi's New Girlfriend

'Dancing with the Stars' finalist Bristol Palin wants to make one thing clear: She's hardly carrying a torch for Levi Johnston.

In fact, Palin -- who, in July, announced her sudden engagement to the father of her baby boy before abruptly breaking it off -- is now going out of her way to explain how thrilled she is that he's moved on.

"I have to be happy for Levi's new relationship because it sounds like his new girlfriend is influencing him to want to actually spend time with Tripp," Bristol, 20, tells E! News. "I sincerely appreciate her influence because [Levi] hasn't asked to see Tripp in over five months, so I'm happy for this new development!"

The new girlfriend, 19-year-old Sunny Oglesby, is "In a Relationship with Levi Johnston" on her Facebook page, which also features a photo of her kissing Palin's 20-year-old ex.

A source tells E! that Sunny, who is reportedly a day-care employee, is "so excited to meet Tripp" and "can't wait to meet him when they get back to Alaska."

Sarah Palin's grandson Tripp, who turns 2 later this month, is in the custody of Bristol and has spent long stretches in L.A. during her 'DWTS' stint this season. There's been no response from Johnston's camp about Palin's claim that he hasn't attempted to see his son in months.

You know, if Bristol doesn't want media attention all she has to do is take care of her baby and stop talking about the whole thing... but I think like many teenagers she makes the mistake of thinking it is really about her, and it's not. Her mother has gotten a lot of mileage out of this, and managed to turn the whole world upside down in terms of what's considered proper, and what's right and wrong, but I don't think this girl belongs in the political arena. The most mature and sensible thing would be to get out of the spotlight and just live her life without all the drama.

I am so sick and tired of the media shoving every thing that the Palins do in the people faces. Who cares? To me Sarah, Bristol and the whole Palin should just stay in Alaska and take of their business there. No more info about the boring Palins anymore....PLEASE!

What fantasy world was she living in, while they were still together?! He didn't even look half as thrilled, about being a father. It's really hard living under the spotlight, of a mother like that! She's still young, and should just go back to school, and finish, since people don't think she's all that talented. Her family must have enough money, to hire enough nannies, and a personal fitness trainer, because she's not all that ugly!
