Rihanna and Matt Kemp Separated for the Holidays

Despite reports of a breakup, Rihanna and boyfriend Matt Kemp are blaming their busy work schedules for why they haven't been spotted together recently. A music source tells PopEater that the couple has not formally split ... yet.

"They are both extremely busy in their careers and that causes problems when there is little time to get together," says the source when describing the couple's one-year relationship.

But speculation about an impending split continues, as pair has even canceled their holiday plans together to focus on work.

Rihanna is sitting on top of the world, traveling to perform and promoting her new album 'Loud,' but that leaves her little time to deal with love.

"It is hard enough to keep a relationship hot when a famous couple is in the same city, but when each is traveling with a high pressure job, it takes more than loyalty and love to stay together," says the source.

For the Christmas holidays, Rhianna likes to head home to Barbados where she hangs with family and friends. But this year, she will headline a New Years Eve event at Pure in Las Vegas.

"No matter what happens with Kemp, Rihanna is focused on her career," the source says.
