Tracy Morgan 'Doing Well' After Kidney Transplant

'30 Rock' star Tracy Morgan recently underwent a kidney transplant and is on the mend, E! Online reports.

PEOPLE says the surgery took place Dec. 10; Morgan was seen enjoying a New York Knicks game a week later.

"Tracy is doing well and taking some much needed time to recover after the surgery," Morgan's rep said in a statement.

Morgan was diagnosed with diabetes in 1996.

The surgery will result in two to three Tracy-less episodes of '30 Rock' set to air in March. The 42-year-old actor's rep adds Morgan is "looking forward to going back to work after the holidays."

Coincidentally, Morgan's costar Grizz Chapman received a kidney transplant earlier this year.

Gee i wonder how long he was on the waiting list for, a week? Joe blow has been waiting for that same kidney for 5 years.

Not true and unkind, Bob. As a matter of fact, my son would have gotten a kidney transplant the exact same day, but the organ was damaged. As it happened, he had been on the waiting for exactly 1 week. He got lucky and his number was up quickly. It didnt work out but we were told he is still near the top of the list. There are so many variables involved with organ traqnsplants. So, give Tracy a break, please. He was very fortunate to receive an incredible gift.

I have been waiting for a year and a half just to get on the Kidney waiting list. Dialysis 6 days a week....fun. A transplant coordinator told that after I am on the list that it will take from 5-7 years to get a transplant. How did he get one so quick? Something fishy here......

How do you know he didn't "wait his turn"? How do you know some loving person didn't donate one of their kidneys? Why is it when someone famous gets a transplant of some kind, they "bought it" or got some sort of preferential treatment? Hey, Bob, if you have such a problem with a famous person getting a kidney, why don't you pony up one of yours and designate it to that average "Joe Blow" you're lamenting? You can lead a full and healthy life with just one, you know... I'm doing it. So put up or shut up. And here is wishing a speedy and healthy recovery to Mr. Morgan!

Guess when you drink and do a ton of blow it might just affect your kidney a bit. Think tracy and his pose will stop doing what they did before or do we give it a month and tracey is back to drugs and booze ?

You don't know what he does. The article said he has diabetes, which can cause all kinds of problems, kidney failure is just one of them. Hope he gets well soon. Hope you're heart is miraculously healed also.

He's not really funny or talented but I'm glad hes doing well. He may want to think about helping himself a bit, I mean, look at the size of him.

Gee maybe Mrs Obama should take him on as a cause ?? If anyone needs her "you don't need desert" speech its him!
Maybe if he had exercised and lost some of that flab he wouldn't need a kidney.

Appearing swollen can be a sign of kidney issues among other medical conditions and side effects of medication. Fat does not always equate to overeating or pigging out as the cause.

You are a tool. Morgan lost a ton of weight about a decade ago. He looks bloated from the steroidal meds people with kidney failure take.

You just showed the world how stupid you are. My friend gained between twenty-five and thirty pounds in just over a week because he went into kidney failure. What makes you so hateful other than, dare I say, racism? You should be ashamed, although I fear you don't have the qualities that would make you feel anything for anybody. How sad for you and all who know you.
