'Sarah Palin's Alaska' is such a huge hit for TLC that the network is busy trying to get the former governor to sign up for season two."3.066 million people turned in last week to see her episode with Kate Gosselin," a TLC insider tells me. "That is more people than are watching Bravo's 'Housewives' series or most other cable shows. For sure the network is doing everything it possibly can to convince Sarah to do another season, but at the end of the day it looks like it will all come down to money."
Sarah, who is reportedly making more than $250,000 per episode for the eight-week series, is no fool -- when the show debuted to over 4.96 million viewers, insiders tell me she started talking about a new deal right away.

I am not a fan of Sarah Palin's but I do respect her get up and go. I watched a little of the "camping trip" what a difference between Sarah and Kate. Kates all about herself and Sarah was about having a good time with the family. If Kate had been less rigid and nasty people might be happy she was making good money.I am all for Sarah doing well on her show.

I WAS CURIOUS TO SEE 'SARAH PALIN'S ALASKA' AND WAS SUPER TURNED OFF BECAUSE OF THE 'ANIMAL CRUELTY' AND SHE JUST DOESN'T SEE THE 'WRONG' IN IT THAT THIS IS WHAT SHE WANTS HER KIDS TO LEARN.
BUT CONTINUED TO WATCH THE SHOW BECAUSE I JUST LOVE 'PIPER'-SHE CRACKS ME UP...SHE'S CUTE AND HAS A SENSE OF HUMOR.

I'm not sure about the "animal cruelty" you refer to, could you explain? I caught the shows on logging and whitewater rafting, but my work schedule doesn't let me watch it often. Thanks.
I know there is a lot of controversy where Sarah Palin is concerned. I hear it all of the time from my husband. He is constantly telling me she does not have what it takes to be president. I tell him that right now that is not my concern, I LOVE the show.. I think there is a whole lot of silliness over the animal she killed for food. I feel as though I am vacationing in Alaska! I think her family is wonderful, lots of money, yes well that is a fact! But they are hard workers Please Sarah say yes to another season!!!!!!! Oh also my husband now watches your show with me!!!

It is a good show, fun to watch. Having been to the Juneau area, they've done a good job trying to translate that to television. I hope they can do a show from around the Juneau area, with the hiking trails, the Mendenhall glacier and salmon bakes; there is a beauty there I have taken pictures of, but I always tell people that it's impossible to capture the raw nature in a picture. Maybe they've already done such a show, I don't get a chance to watch it all the time.
I am a Canadian. Like Sarah just the way I like Hilary Clinton. I can't understand why Americans don't like a strong, smart,beautiful,mother and wife be elected as president of the U.S.? Read her two books and I still hungry for more. Very inspirational. I enjoyed and never miss her show. Happy to learned that there will be a second episode. HURRAY for Sarah, for critics and supporters as well to you.

Sarah Palin is successful and being a successful conservative married woman drives a lot of people nuts, even though Obama claims to want them to be more civilized. Agreed, Clinton gets the same raw deal as Palin.
