Jon Gosselin Gets a Job, and It's Not a Reality TV Show

After months staying out of the limelight, Jon Gosselin has finally landed a real job and gotten his life back together.

"Jon is very close with Jill Zarin from 'Real Housewives of New York,' " an insider tells me. "It was Jill who told Jon to stay out of the spotlight and get himself a real job. Fame is fun but doesn't pay the bills."

Now Jon is working for a real estate developer, has a nice new girlfriend, and is seeing his children three to four times a week.

"Jon is in a great place," a friend of the father of eight tells me. "He is happy and knows what a fool he made of himself after his split from Kate. He has been getting a lot of TV offers, including interest from 'Dancing With the Stars,' and has turned them all down. If he never sees a TV camera again in his life it will be too soon."

Meanwhile, don't expect his ex, Kate Gosselin, to disappear anytime soon. Her shows are doing just fine for TLC, ensuring that Kate won't be out of the network's line-up anytime soon. Although the ratings are way down from the days of her marriage breakdown, Kate's show is constantly in the top 10 for TLC.

"Even if her show did get canceled, Kate would find a way to still be famous," a friend of the mom tells me. "She addicted to it."

I can't believe after everything, Jon has become the normal parent!

Of course Jill Zarin would tell him that so the dummy that he is would step out of her way. And that's because considering she is just as low on the "Totem pole of fame" as he is she needed to get him out of the publics eyes because of the way she tried and failed to screw over Bethenny out of being more famous than her on that "HWONYC" show.

Kate can't get enough of the spotlight, that's her main problem-she's not a parent she's a media hound. Maybe at one time she was all about the kids, but nowa it's all about her. She gave birth to eight kids, and is famous for that. WHY??!! Her uterus works so give her a tv show or two--yeah, that makes sense. That's worthy of everyone's attention and praise.

hhhmmm in these two's case..define normal? I'll believe the"sudden" transformation if he still has a job a yr from now..he bounced a lot in past from one thing to another..including stay at home dad while Kate did promo and book signing tours..hope he's grownup, be nice to have both parents working(yes the reality show is Kate's job) towards taking care of the kids

Jon was NEVER as bad as Kate. Yes, he did have a bit of a "going out" phase, but who can really blame him after putting up w/ her for so many years. Jon was always the ones taking care of the kids. He would play w/ them, take them places and actually enjoy them and show them love. Only saw Kate sitting in a chair giving orders. SAVE THE 8 FROM KATE!!!

Just for openers, now that you've taken some good advice, recognize that the giver has been known as a hanger-on who finds reasons to try to damage her proteges out of spite when she gets dropped from the story line. Please know that nobody wishes him ill.... but that he needs to distance himself from that one before she turns on him.

I just don't understand why people seem to think that they have to argue and namecall each other over these two. People! get a life! Even they have. I could care less whether one is "better" than the other. Perhaps I am not so wrapped up in other peoples marital and personal lives because I never cared for "soap operas'".

WHO of you think that Jon is good looking?? He's a gold fish eyed pig, and I'd never buy a house from him, he's too sneaky, can't trust a sneaky person, still waters run deep (they can't be trousted, they lie a lot). You all may say kate is a screamer, but at least you know what she's thiking and she's not a sneak, a back staber or two faced. Don't get me wrong, I feel she can improve on her mother roll but she is working hard to suport the kids, NOT stealing from the house hold funds like Jon has. The kids are cute because they have asian and white in them, that always makes for a really cute kid, hope Jon can PROVE that he's at least trying to be a good dad for his kids..so far he has failed, what on Earth did Kate ever see in him??

Good for Jon...Hopefully, he will be able to go back to Court and have his children removed from TLC...Kate can be on TV all she wants but these kids deserve a normal life or as normal as possible with a Mother like Kate...Time for Kate to support Kate and not have her children support her...
