World Cup Soccer Star Landon Donovan Files for Divorce

Soccer stud Landon Donovan has officially filed for divorce from wife, actress Bianca Kajlich, TMZ.com reports. The two have been separated since 2009 though have stayed good friends (and maybe more?) since. Donovan famously blew her a kiss on live television after scoring the winning goal in a World Cup match earlier this year.

The divorce documents were filed Wednesday by Donovan and cite irreconcilable differences as the cause for the split. Surprisingly, Donovan is requesting spousal support and asking Kajlich to pay for his attorney's fees. Kajlich stars on the CBS sitcom, 'Rules of Engagement.'

Though the couple was separated at the time, after scoring the winning goal against Algeria in the World Cup and blowing Kajlich a kiss, fans began speculating that a reconciliation might take place.

At the time, a friend of Kajlich's told Yahoo! Sports, "It would surprise no one if Landon and Bianca were back together very soon. They have remained in contact and are very close to one another."

"The fact that Landon wanted to share his special moment with her is very significant," the friend added.

Donovan and Kajlich were married on New Year's Eve 2006 and separated last year.

Last night on Fox Soccer, they reported Donovan, rather than going on "loan" to Everton in England, said he needed to take time off to rest up for the Galaxy's next season. I guess that's why he need spousal support. While a good player, I've never liked him off the pitch. I especially disliked his early attitude regarding David Beckham. Jealousy?
