Debbie Matenopoulos, Original 'View' Host, Trashes Star Jones

Debbie Matenopoulos, one of the original hosts of 'The View,' tells me she knew early on that Star Jones loved getting free swag and inappropriately plugging it on the show.

"I want on vacation with Star and when we returned she mentioned everything on the show," Debbie tells me on my HDNet show, 'Naughty But Nice With Rob.' "I was so young and had no idea how TV worked, but even I knew it wasn't right, getting all this free stuff and in return plugging it on air." See a clip of our chat after the jump!

Debbie -- who was replaced on 'The View' by Lisa Ling in 1999 -- also tells me about the day she was fired from 'The View' after Barbara Walters got fed up with her late nights out -- Debbie once ended up topless in a NYC bar! You'll also see Debbie do her best Barbara Walters impression ... it's a cold, cold stare Debbie would often receive when she said something the grande dame of TV didn't like.

With the exception of perhaps Goldberg, all of these women are idiots. Having had the misfortune of getting stuck watching this show while sitting in doctors' offices with my mother-in-law (a double treat)I do not understand how it has remained on the air for so long.

Ms Goldberg isnt the brightest bulb on the tree, either. She tries to be an intellectual but cant keep up. Mostly, she's just opinionated...and not open minded at all. She's not funny either.

Whoppi is just as 'obnoxious' as the rest of the women on the View! Its time for the WAWA to go.And as far as Debbie goes,what a LOSER. Does she think she will get "point' for "dogging' someone else? Goes to show you what she is like! Behar is the worst thing to ever happen to Televison since it began. What a miserable ,heartless human being she is! Does she really think she is so important? Only to losers!

I don't get it--why do celebrities wait before trashing each other? T.O. had harsh words for Tony Romo six months after their season ended in December 2007. Spike Lee smacked Clint Eastwood for not having black soldiers in "Flags of Our Fathers" just before his own WWII movie came out. Now two former hosts of "The View" are going at it 12 years later. I swear--some people don't have the guts to get in someone's grill at their angriest.
