Gwyneth Paltrow Finds Her Public Relationships 'Strange'

Gwyneth Paltrow has been married to Chris Martin for seven years, but the couple are so rarely photographed together you'd hardly know they'd even met.

The 38-year-old actress and the 33-year-old Coldplay frontman married in 2003 after a year of dating, and have maintained a very low-profile relationship since.

Paltrow, who previously had very public relationships -- and breakups -- with Brad Pitt and Ben Affleck, tells E! that she's become more guarded in recent years.

Her reasoning? "It was strange to be part of a public couple."

The actress and mother of two confesses that motherhood hasn't always been easy either, and admits to struggling with post-partum depression after son Moses' birth.

"You don't want anybody to know that you're depressed or crying all the time, " she says. "There's this shame that we bring to it and it's incredibly debilitating and scary and you just don't feel like yourself."

Despite her difficulties, Paltrow's own parents have served as role models for the actress, inspiring dedication in their daughter. "We could have paid for everything and had a spoiled kid," says her mother, actress Blythe Danner. "[But] I think it's really important for people to work hard."

Everything about this woman is strange. Nepotism at its finest.
the marriage is a sham, shes a fake, and within 1 month you will be hearing about a divorce.

She is such a prima donna. Every movie she's in has "Oscar buzz". How about Shallow Hal? I remember her looking droopy in a raincoat following Brad Pitt around. This husband doesn't make public appearances with her. She's prissy, self-entitled, and not magically talented. Why does the media get off on her? I don't see it.

I would be very private too if every where I went, there were cameras flicking in my face. Gwyneth likes her privacy,, nothing wrong with that. The only reason shes being seen a lot now, is for publicity for the movie shes being in. It has to sell, like any other movie.
I dont think Gwyneth is a Madonna. I think Gwyneth is a private person, and likes time with her family, like everyone elses does.
