'Teen Mom' Amber Portwood in Jail Following Felony Charges

Just hours after it was announced there was a warrant out for her arrest, 'Teen Mom' star Amber Portwood surrendered to Indiana police on domestic abuse charges, TMZ.com reports.

The reality TV star allegedly attacked Gary Shirley, the father of her little girl Leah, three times in 2009 and 2010--one altercation caught on tape as MTV filmed 'Teen Mom.'

Portwood has been charged with two felony counts of domestic battery and one felony count of neglect of a dependent. She was also charged with a misdemeanor charge of domestic battery. She's been placed on a 24-hour hold and her bail has been set at $5,000.

"Amber is scared. Gary is here with us. He's upset, too. It's just been awful because we were supposed to have Christmas all together with my mom today and [the cops] picked her up an hour before," Portwood's brother, Shawn, told E!Online.com.

Portwood faces up to three years in jail and a $10,000 fine if convicted.

In a September interview with PEOPLE, the reality star admitted that she regretted her actions. "I don't want her [daughter, Leah] to see that and think that it's okay," Portwood explained at the time. "We just kind of made that decision because of Leah. We see it affecting her," she added about the couple's decision to make sure their fights never become physical.

You obviously have ignored the fact this girl has anger issues and gave her boyfriend and father of her child a beat down in front of the cameras and her child. Talk about being immature plus add the fact that she is already pregnant for a second time. This girl needs the MTV paychecks to stay off of welfare since she has no education and getting pregnant can't be a wise career move.

I guess you haven't seen the show. She doesn't even have the strength to NOT HIT HIM ON TV! She doesn't know she can get arrested for battery? Maybe this will teach her a lesson and then they can move foward with her new found self control.
