Report: Marc Anthony Owes $3.4 Million in Taxes

Marc Anthony is having a bit of trouble with the tax man. According to a report from RadarOnline.com, the 'I Need to Know' singer owes New York State more than $3.4 million in taxes for his real estate in Nassau County, Long Island.

A federal tax lien for $1.6 million was placed on the property a year ago and three months later, a $1.8 million lien was placed on the same property by New York.

This isn't the first time Anthony has had tax issues. Back in 2007, he was slapped with a $2.5 million bill after delaying payment for four years.

According to PEOPLE, Anthony and his wife Jennifer Lopez together rake in a total of roughly $31 million annually.

Neither Anthony or his lawyer were reached for comment on whether or not the taxes have been paid back or not.

Johnson....they don't jail you for non payment on property taxes. They put liens against the place, which the article said they did. Snipes didn't pay the IRS. A huge difference.

I guess this is why J Lo had to go on American Idol as a judge, to pay for hubbies back taxes. Neither of these two people have had any kind of hits in music or movies for a long while and are living on the edge. I am only sorry for the children, they are the ones who have to suffer for having these two for parents.

What is the problem with these celebs not paying their taxes? They have more money than they need, yet won't pay taxes. When I owed a couple of hundred dollars in taxes a few years ago, they wouldn't leave me alone til I paid up.

If this was the normal public we would be in jail after the first time this happened. If the IRS would do their job and put these so called artist in jail for not paying their taxes more would think before they do this. 31 million and he can't pay taxes? I wish I had a third of that much money. He is a singer? could have fooled me. As for JLO whatever her name is, she can't act or sing so she is fooling the public too.

If you read the article it's real estate tax!!! Last time I checked, the IRS did not collect those!

can't put them in jail for owing property tax; and it is a number of years before they can take the property from them.

Are they going to jail, like Wesley Snipes? I doubt it. Ther're not Black. No one should go to jail for back taxes if they can just pay up. Willie Nelson paid his, and got 5 mil. knocked off of the original 16 mil. Why did Westly go to jail? It's just not fair, or right!
