ABBA singer Agnetha Faltskog has fueled rumors of the band reuniting for Prince William's wedding next year by saying that they would be open to reforming for special occasions.Swedish news website The Local reports that Faltskog said in a magazine interview that one-off events, such as performances for charity, could see the group reunite.
Faltskog told M Magazine, "A reunion, an occasional opportunity, maybe in connection with a charity event, I believe we could consider it.
"We would not reunite for a tour like the Rolling Stones and other old bands do now. However, I could see us doing something together in the future. It is just a feeling I have that it would be fun to get together, talk a bit about the past and maybe perform together."

Why on earth would the Prince and his Fiance (they are not the 'Royals' William is, but Kate is not a royal) want ABBA at the wedding? the group is not even from their generation! If Wills is into ABBA it may be because the late Princess Diana was, that would be a joke to have them perform, who has heard them live in the last 20 years? they might suck.
Of course hese special occasion rerunion shows would all be filmed. Then we'd have the opportunity to purchase these concerts on CD and DVD. A great opportunity to add to the music library for all ABBA fans. IF they actually do it.

She's the one whose's been most against a re-union. Her finances must be a mess for her to want to do it. The money from the sale of CD's and DVD's of the event will take care of the problem. Only the money donated will go to the charity.

That's what my first thought was. Their bank accounts must need a little more padding. It cracks me up when people need something, but turn it around to make it seem as if they're doing *you* a favor. Don't get me wrong -- I *love* ABBA's music, but they've only done one concert here in America during their whole career. Do they think they're so above us or something? Do they not like America and its people? America has *greatly* contributed to their wealth. This group is a little weird, IMO. Kind of a strange profession for people who don't seem to like performing in front of others. It wouldn't hurt my feelings if they just stayed under their rock, with the attitudes they have. They don't like performing, but they sure love the money.
I LOVE ABBA. Them working together again would be a heck of a lot cooler than some pompous wedding. To me, anyway.

This is great news. I hope they do it. I love ABBA and I don't think they need the money. They are making a bushel off "Mama Mia" (it's playing all over the world and is in its ninth year in New York) and sales of their albums are still good. They probably just want to get back in the spotlight. ABBA is the greatest.

Babs are babs, the guys cab phone it in. Guess is the girlies look like somebodies grandmummies now.
RuDee, just for your info, MAMA MIA is based on their songs and it is a big success everywhere! People still love their songs, and no one is better than the original band. Even kids that where not born yet when ABBA was together know their songs. On the other hand I doubt that you will have a chance to see them together on one stage because they turned everyone down even the Eurovision who honored them.

ABBA fits this wedding! Generation gap, anything before 1985 and I go blank and the 80's are old stuff.

yea right, that's why most of the new songs are all remakes....
Older people are always pushing that the youth should know all these bands that aren't around and just really weren't that great. It's the same in reverse, they don't know any of the even older stuff and it doesn't fit them either. The newer stuff is crap once again, they're falling into that "short hair" generation, rebel teeny bop pop. In the future these will all be the forgotten stuff once again.
A talented group who performed some fabulous songs. Sadly they did not last too long before breaking up. It would be great to see them perform a couple more times.

ABBA doesn't need the money..LOL.They turned down a billion dollar offer for a reunion tour. Benny and Bjorn have always been open to the idea of a reunion, Frida and Agnetha were the holdouts, especially Agnetha. They were never proficient as live performers; they were a studio band. However, I'd love to see a reunion.

I think they'd sell out those events in minutes if they reunite for those one-time only events. They know that they don't want to do multiple shows like the Rolling Stones like to do. Everybody knows ABBA's music and I'm sure that that royal couple heard a greatest hits CD by ABBA and loved every song (even though they weren't born at the group's hit making peak). I don't think they're doing it for the money, but for the music and what the songs meant to them when they recorded them in the '70s and early '80s.

The girls attempted solo careers in the 80s,to my knowledge, neother one really panned out. Frida had one hit"I know theres something goin on" and Agnetha "Shake it loose" had one and that is all I am aware of. They pretty much havent done a thing in 25 years. They need to reunite now and rehearse to sing in April.

Danny,
Go back to the websites (for ABBA, and the individual singers). They have not remained reclusive.
Know that Abba (wish I could turn B around), one of greatest artists/sellers of all time. I like "Dancing Queen".
