David Arquette Enters Rehab Following Rough 2010

His very public downward spiral seemingly complete,
David Arquette has checked himself into rehab. The 'Scream' actor, who announced his split with wife
Courteney Cox in October, sought help some time over the New Year's weekend after months of erratic behavior. His rep confirmed the news to
PEOPLE.
According to
TMZ, which broke the story, Arquette checked into an unnamed live-in rehab facility to address an alcohol problem. The actor hosted a New Year's Eve party at Arquette & Beacher's Madhouse Theater, located at the Roosevelt Hotel in Los Angeles. According to its
website, the venue features a "Flying Midget bartender" and has the "atmosphere of a circus."
A source close to Arquette tells TMZ he's seeking help because it's "the right thing to do for his family."
PEOPLE quotes another insider who confirms the star is in rehab for "drinking and depression, not hard drugs."
Cox has quickly come out in support of
Arquette's decision, telling
PEOPLE, "I really admire David and his choice to take charge and better his life," adding, "I love and support him."
During a segment on Howard Stern's radio show last month, Arquette admitted he was having a hard time dealing with his split with Cox, his wife of 11 years and mother of his 6-year-old daughter, Coco. "I've been drinking a lot because I'm heartbroken," he admitted. "It's really a personal, traumatic thing."
Stern pointedly asked Arquette whether he believed he was having a nervous breakdown. "I believe so," the actor responded. "Everybody is worried and concerned about me."
The actor has been spotted on numerous occasions over the past few months yukking it up at nightclubs, Lakers games (while wearing odd costumes) and at a tattoo parlor in Miami. In November, he wrote that his recent uptick in social engagements is not indicative of a larger problem. "I know people think I've flipped my lid but I haven't," he wrote on Twitter.
Incidentally, his final post on Twitter, from Dec. 27, is a
photo taken in the middle of the street with traffic coming straight at him.
On October 12, the day after Arquette and Cox announced their separation, Arquette called in to Stern's show and divulged intimate details about his failing marriage and his hookup with a waitress after they separated in June. Arquette said that he and his wife hadn't had sex for about a month before they started shooting Scream 4 and that Cox wanted the separation because she told him she was "tired of being your mother."
While Arquette later admitted that he revealed too many details about his relationship with Cox, he returned to Stern's show on Oct. 27, saying that he's slept with at least two women since his separation.

For real? So typical, blame a substance for all your problems. If Rehab's so great then why doesn't it work more often. These celeb's whose star is fading and or gone and are still trying to resurrect their fame or family need to deal with their issues and quit blaming a substance.

EXACTLY !
Reality proves he or she is ironically named and posted this: "For real? So typical, blame a substance for all your problems..." My reply: WHERE does it say he's blaming all his problems on a substance? He does say he's been drinking due to being heartbroken. But unless you're referring to another article that YOU didn't quote or link, he doesn't blame alcohol or any other substance to be the reason behind his problems. But please, do explain since YOU CLAIM to be reality despite making up a statement.
Dave and Courtney's career died after scream which was 10 years ago. Why are they still in the news?
I don't think he is blaming the substance if he's having depression problems as well. Considering the way his life has changed, it's not surprising that there is depression. Depression can be very debilitating and I'm glad he is getting help.
How in this world he must feel?? He did at least go into therapy.
I'm glad about that. I do wonder if the glamor of all of these actors is worth all this. I'm praying for him and hoping he will continue to keep safe.
"Celeb's whose star is fading" Seriously, I'm trying to figure out why this guy is a star or a celeb other than the fact that he married Courteenie. Why is he in the news all the time? Is he an actor? Other than marrying a gorgeous actress why is this guy a star?
Who is this person? Is he famous and for what?
Clearly you are heartless, cruel bastard that has NO understanding of addiction and the damage it can do.
You are the worst type of person on earth.
The whole family is a bunch of weirdos. His sisters are odd, his brother/sister is... well nuttier than squirrel sh*t clearly.I love this , So does My boyfriend .he is almost 11year older than me .i met him via ageg apsingles.c 'om a nice place for seeking age le ss love.which gives you a chance to make your life better and open opportunities for you to meet the attractive young girls and treat you like a king. OOOH, IF THEY HAVE A CHILD OUT OF WEDLOCK THE KID IS A BASTARD, IS THAT WHAT YOUR HOLIER-THAN-THOU HIGHNESS MEANS? THERE ARE LOTS OF BASTARD PARENTS AROUND WHO SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO REPRODUCE, BUT NO CHILD SHOULD BE CONSIDERED AS SUCH, SINCE THE CHILD DID NOT ASK TO BE CONCEIVED. I'M SO SICK OF THESE "CHRISTIAN" HYPOCRITES!
oh great article ,My boyfriend and i both think so ...He is almost 11year older than me .i met him via uniform'edmeet.c 'oma nice place for s'ee'king Army, Navy, Mari'nes, Air Force, Police Force and their admires.just love it
There are so many addictions, yet people only talk about drugs or alcohol abuse. For some, it is easier to kick the habit than others. For instance, how many cups of coffee do you drink a day? How many sodas? These are all addictive. Do you smoke? I know lots of people that tried everything to no avail yet smoking is socially unacceptable. Someone can see someone going overboard with wine or another alcohol beverage and not say a thing, but a cigarette can get one kicked out. How about food intake? Another addiction. A gambler? Doctor's should focus on some sort of medication to stop addictions if they don't work as they do for most. Unless one has some kind of addiction, please don't crucify other's.
At least I won't have to listen to him on Stern's show for awhile...worst guest ever.

I know many people are going to somehow link and blame Jennifer Anniston for this since she was the third wheel often times and best friends with David's wife. This is David's problem. If he thinks for one minute it's the right thing to do for his family, so be it. I tend to think it's the right thing for him to do in order to deal with his disease. By doing so, he can regain control of his life and handle his responsibilities that involve raising his children and earning a living. All the best David.

What, you're saying he's been bumping uglies with Jennifer. When did this happen?
I CAN'T STAND THIS IDIOT!! GEE COURTNEY MUST'VE BEEN DESPERATE.

Beyond Desperate I think.
Get well David.

WHAT I FIND SO ODD, IS THAT NONE OF THESE HOLLYWOOD PEOPLE CAN SEEM TO KEEP A MARRIAGE TOGETHER!! MAYBE THEY SHOULD GROW-UP BEFORE THEY GET MARRIED, OR JUST NOT GET MARRIED. I MEAN MOST OF THEM HAVE KIDS OUT OF WEDLOCK ANYWAY, AND IF ANONE KNOWS THE BIBLE WHAT DOES THAT MAKE THEIR CHILD IF THEY DO THAT! MAN, THANK GOODNESS I AM A "NORMAL" PERSON WITH A WONDERFUL HUSBAND THAT LOVES ME FOR ME.
