After officials rejected MTV's original proposal to drop Snooki (like "a friggin' hamster," as she said) inside the iconic Times Square New Year's ball, the network went ahead with a ball-drop of its own, staged among a rowdy crowd of 'Jersey Shore' fans in Seaside Heights, New Jersey. The pre-taped clip aired as midnight approached during MTV's New Year's Eve special, hosted by Whitney Cummings. And since the makeshift ball-drop seemed to descend even slower than the real one in midtown Manhattan, it was pretty much the definition of anti-climactic.
But it was classic Snooki: Bundled in a short animal-print coat and clutching a red plastic cup of New Year's cheer, she shimmied into the transparent orb and did her best to help her fans ring in 2011. In case you missed it, check out a clip of the big moment, including ready-to-party 'Jersey Shore' castmates The Situation and J-Woww declaring their resolutions.

they should have dropped her into a bottemless pit and left her there.

Just watched ball drop clip. Pretty sure my IQ dropped by double digits as a result. Who are these imbeciles? Do people actually watch their show more than once? Saw it one time and nearly injured myself reaching for the remote to change the channel. Hard to believe but the loud-mouthed hostess is even more obnoxious than the Jersey creeps.
