Valerie Bertinelli Says 'I Do' in New Year's Wedding

More wedding news out of Hollywood, as another star kicked off her new year by walking down the aisle.

After becoming engaged earlier this year, 'Hot in Cleveland' star Valerie Bertinelli, 50, exchanged vows on Saturday night with her longtime boyfriend, 49-year-old financial planner Tom Vitale.

The wedding -- Bertinelli's second -- was an intimate affair in Malibu, hosted by the couple at their home, according to People.com. The guest list numbered approximately 100, including Bertinelli's 19-year-old son, Wolfie -- her only child with ex-husband Eddie Van Halen, who was also in attendance.

Other VIPs at the nuptials included 'Cleveland' co-stars Jane Leeves and Wendie Mallick, as well as Bertinelli's 'One Day at a Time' co-stars Pat Harrington and Mackenzie Phillips, both of whom reportedly made heartfelt toasts at the reception.

"We're so happy!" Bertinelli told People.com, about her wedding news.

The former 'One Day at a Time' teen star first met Vitale in 2004, and the couple got engaged in March on a getaway in Italy.

Bertinelli's first wedding was in 1981; she and Eddie Van Halen split in 2000, and finalized their divorce in 2007. An amicable friendship developed after they ended their long relationship, and the actress was a guest at Van Halen's 2009 wedding.

Of her fresh start with Vitale, the Jenny Craig spokeswoman told AARP magazine earlier this year, "After Ed and I separated, I thought, 'I'll finish raising my son, and I'll go away, have about 40 cats, and just get nice and fat.' I thought I would be alone for the rest of my life....[Now] I can't imagine my life...till the day I die, without him....Marriage at this age is so much different than when I was first married at 20. I feel incredibly lucky because here I am [at] 50 and I feel like I really am in the prime of my life."

Beauty has nothing to do with this. They know each other a very long time. Became good friends & fell in love. They are not your typical Hollywood couple. They were both overweight & both lost weight on Jenny Craig. They got engaged, (are you with me so far) & now they are married. They seem like soul mates & appear very happy. All relationships should fare so well. Any way, I wish them both much happiness & love.

Really??? I think he has that Telly Savalas look. (Remember Kojack)? I think he is handsome & they make a great looking couple. Congratulations! Love, Peace & Happiness Always.

Wow did I ruffle some biddie feathers. Ok men, tell the truth. You guys out there over 45 know exactly what I am saying. Sure he's no Johnny Depp but in REAL LIFE many women his age would date him. And I DID NOT say he would be with a young girl just not one his age. That's the way of the world. Sorry ladies.

So what if they have been together for a long time? She was still a celebrity and he a money manager. Put it together. Now that her career has taken off again, he marries her? I can only hope she has an ironclad prenup.

I wish them the best. I have always admired her work and her dedication to her son and being friends with eddie it shows great character.I wish them all the happiness i the world and no matter what a person weighs the matter of their heart being golden will always count.

I have always felt that Valerie was/is a good actress. I enjoyed her in One Day At A Time and I know she is awesome in Hot In Cleveland .

I believe she was a faithful wife to Van Halen , but life is what it is . They were both famous in different ways , I think with drugs and alcohol involved in relationships , individuals involved drift apart and loose interest in what drew them together in the first place . May God bless both Eddie and Valerie in their new nuptials .

She is very pretty for 50. I saw her on the "Doctors" show not long ago and I could not believe it. I agree, How many 50 year olds look like her? Remember the Bikini cover? She looks well, not a dried up size 0 trying to look and act as though she is 20.

ijustwantedtosay - I just wanted to say that I am 52, and don't have one wrinkle around my eyes, nose, mouth, or forehead. I also have not started any drooping around the jowl area. I'm a very fortunate gal; my grandmother, in her 80's, looked no older than someone in their late 60's. My mother and aunt were blessed with the same skin, as I have been blessed. Don't know what I'll look like next year, but I am living proof that Valerie, at age 50, can look like this naturally.

And Buffy, you must be a sad and lonely person. I wish her well; I've always thought she was a doll. Would have made a great Gidget when she was a teen. Same kind of looks as Sally Field, Adorable and bratty looking.

Actually I am a very happy, and well adjusted woman and I have an awesome man in my life. I just happen to be realistic in the area of dating as an older woman. I have been divorced many, many years and have seen it all. My partner is 16 years older than me for a reason. It works much better that way. I only wish Valerie would have gone older and not younger-in the long run she would have been much happier. I hope I am wrong for her sake because I too think she's a doll. I hope I am wrong but many here have said it: Hollywood is a very shallow place and is a micro view of our society in general. People develop their values on what they are influenced by and older women do not have it easy in finding a partner just as older actresses have a hard time finding good roles. Just the way it is. Once we women accept this fact we can then adjust and be very happy. But, we have to be wise in our choices and I don't think he is a good choice for her. My gut tells me he is a user.
