Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt Give $2 Million to Namibian Wildlife Sanctuary

The holidays may be over, but Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are still in a giving mood.

The philanthropic pair are giving a whopping $2 million to the animal sanctuary in Namibia where the couple spent Christmas with their six kids, the Associated Press reports (via The Huffington Post).

The couple made their donation to the Naankuse Lodge and Wildlife Sanctuary in Namibia, the country in which their 4-year-old daughter, Shiloh, was born.

In a statement released by Jolie, the actress said of their donation, which was made in Shiloh's name, "We want her to be very involved and grow up with the understanding of her country of birth."

Jolie and Pitt regularly contribute to humanitarian causes and non-profit organizations, including Doctors Without Borders and Global Action for Children, through the Jolie/Pitt foundation, founded in 2006.

The couple and their children spent the holidays at the Namibian sanctuary caring for and feeding orphaned animals.

Jolie says of their time spent at Naankuse Lodge, "We continue to be impressed by their hard work and dedication to the people and conservation of the land and wildlife of Namibia."

Quietly donate? Nothing is quiet with Brad and Angelina. I'm sure she released the info to insure the facts are correct.
And what do you care who released the info, isn't the important issue that they donate?

I agree with you. The only reason we hear about all of these celebrities charity is to cover for the fact that they are making obscene amounts of money while the rest of us make nothing. Most of us are charitable every day but the press doesn't run stories on us because we aren't considered to be important like celebrities, politicians, and professional athletes are. I'm tired of all of this celebrity news too. It makes me sick.

i am very proud of them continually for their effort to help people around the world and people should also be proud of them instead of hatred toward them because there are blessed couple and wonderful people. all of us should think about helping each other than to hurting one another in this new year 2011. we should count our blessings to continue to make it in 2011. i wish i can meet angelina and brad to thank them 4 everything and continually do good things. they still got a lot of bradgelina fans including me on their corner....love ya!!
