Dina Lohan: Give Lindsay 'Time and Space' to Heal

Lindsay Lohan's release from rehab Monday is cause for celebration, but her mom Dina is hoping friends, well-wishers and of course the media will leave the trouble-prone 'Mean Girls' star alone as she continues her tough path to recovery.

"I thank everyone for their support, but I ask as a mother that she be given the time and space she needs," she tells me.

The actress has been holed up at the Betty Ford Center in Southern California since a judge sent her there in October after violating her probation earlier in the year by failing a drug test.

A source tells me that Lindsay was picked up by her mom and that her father, Michael, was not involved in her big exit. I'm told that after she's out, Lindsay will not be going to a safe house and that she'll likely be staying in Los Angeles for a while with her mom.

"They all might return to Long Island," the insider reveals. "Lindsay doesn't have any projects at the moment, so she'll focus on her fashion line."

Addiction is a horrible disease and I truly wish Lindsey the best. I hope Dina is really looking after Lindsey and NOT her bank account!

In the case of Lindsey Lohan, her addiction is her CHOICE. This thing about calling it a disease is crap. My ex went through rehab 4 times and it never took. Why? Because these weasels in rehab, collecting all those big bucks, tell them that it's not their fault. It's a disease. That they were BORN that way and that nothing is their fault. That's crap. They are all enablers, just like Dina Lohan. My favorite is how they insist on bringing the healthy members of a family or relationship into their sick little groups, trying to make the family member responsible for the addict

Nope. Unless an addict takes responsibility for his/her own actions, for the consequences of their actions, and realizes that THEY are the ones who make these bad decisions, they will never change.
