Dina Lohan: Give Lindsay 'Time and Space' to Heal

Lindsay Lohan's release from rehab Monday is cause for celebration, but her mom Dina is hoping friends, well-wishers and of course the media will leave the trouble-prone 'Mean Girls' star alone as she continues her tough path to recovery.

"I thank everyone for their support, but I ask as a mother that she be given the time and space she needs," she tells me.

The actress has been holed up at the Betty Ford Center in Southern California since a judge sent her there in October after violating her probation earlier in the year by failing a drug test.

A source tells me that Lindsay was picked up by her mom and that her father, Michael, was not involved in her big exit. I'm told that after she's out, Lindsay will not be going to a safe house and that she'll likely be staying in Los Angeles for a while with her mom.

"They all might return to Long Island," the insider reveals. "Lindsay doesn't have any projects at the moment, so she'll focus on her fashion line."

Some would say she isn't much of a mother, same for Michael Lohan being a father. They both chase fame through the daughter. She is so messed up from their "rearing" that she will probably never be totally okay. I think there really is no one to rescue her from the parents. She will just have to find the strength inside to separate herself from them. I think she is smart enough to manage that, but will she actually do that.

Dina Lohan has done more harm than good for her daughter, but seems totally oblivious to it. I only hope that Lindsay has enough chutzpah to tell her mother, LEAVE ME ALONE, PLEASE!!

Give her time to heal, make it in jail for a year!

As a mother myself, this Dina woman makes me sick to my stomach. She's literally made a career off her daughter's fame (in the early years) and notoriety (most recently). Even while Lindsay was out of the "business" due to her substance abuse and legal woes, Mommy Dearest cashed in with countless interviews, photo ops, "inside information", etc. etc. Those things aren't helping your troubled daughter, honey, they're helping YOUR bank account. Dina knows her daughter's career is over. However, she's counting on her to relapse or something, so she can continue the media drama through interviews and such - which translate to money in her bank account. Absolutely sickening.

Not what I would think is a good roll model… her mother.. She is the leader of the pack.. Who did Lindsay party with when she was supposed to be walking a straight and narrow line? Guess we will soon be reading about mom and daughter arrested, drugs etc. only a matter of time. Who will be supporting who, since Dina has no job?????

Her mom is a Lindsay wannabe who lives vicariously through her jacked up daughter. It is pathetic. What Lindsay needs is some jail time..not this rehab vacation. No normal people like us would ever get away with this crap.
