Michael Jackson Autopsy Documentary Postponed Indefinitely
Michael Jackson's family and fans will be relieved to learn that the
controversial medical documentary, 'Michael Jackson's Autopsy: What Really Killed Michael Jackson,' has been shelved.
The Discovery television network announced Dec. 31 that it will no longer air the show, which features a reenactment of the superstar's autopsy, citing concerns from Jackson's estate and an upcoming court hearing as their reason for pulling the plug.
"Given the commencement of legal proceedings beginning next week, and at the request of Michael Jackson's estate, the scheduled broadcast of the medical documentary related to Michael Jackson's official autopsy has been postponed indefinitely," Discovery Networks International said in a statement.
The news comes as a win for supporters of an online
petition against the documentary. More than 10,000 signatures were collected in opposition to 'Michael Jackson's Autopsy: What Really Killed Michael Jackson,' originally scheduled to air in parts of Western Europe and the UK on Jan. 13.
Jackson died July 25, 2009, at the age of 50 after suffering cardiac arrest at his home in Los Angeles. Autopsy results revealed the cause of death to be acute propofol intoxication, with the coroner making the determination of a homicide. Jackson's physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, who has been charged with involuntary manslaughter in the case, maintains his innocence regarding the pop star's drug overdose. The preliminary hearing for Murray starts Jan. 4.

No, it not going to air on Discovery Network. Maybe his good ole pal Oprah will air it on her Discovery Health Network ...... OOOOOPPPS, OWN, Oprah Winfrey Network. She bought that one, she could air it on hers. All you MJ fans should be begging her to show it. Maybe she will allow the real autopsy to be revealed, or maybe she will aide in covering up the real autopsy????
Thank God Discovery Channel has finally made the right decision.
