John Legend Pops Open Another Year With 'Electric' Birthday Bash

John Legend was definitely living it up at his 32nd birthday bash Wednesday at New York City hotspot RdV, where he celebrated with celeb pals, including Ne-Yo, Estelle and even 'Jersey Shore' star Pauly D.

With his gorgeous Thai-Norwegian model girlfriend Christine Teigen at his side, the 'Live It Up' singer hit the dance floor for most of the night, stopping to blow out candles on a giant birthday cake bearing a picture of him as a kid and pop open a magnum of Moet Chandon, which RdV bedazzled with rhinestones that said, 'Happy Birthday John!' "He loved that," one partygoer tells PopEater.

"He had the best time," the source says. "He didn't stop dancing the whole night. He had so much fun with his friends and with Christine. The vibe in the room was electric. Everybody was really happy and was really celebrating."

With good reason -- besides turning 32 (officially on Dec. 28), Legend earned a whopping five Grammy nominations this year, including Best R&B Song for 'Shine' with The Roots, Best R&B Album for 'Wake Up!' with The Roots and Best Traditional R&B vocal performance for 'Hang In There' with The Roots.

He also recently collaborated with his longtime friend, Kanye West, on the new song, 'Eyes Closed.' "Every time a Kanye song came on, the crowd went nuts," says the partygoer.

Also on hand to help Legend celebrate were Brittny Gastineu, Questlove of The Roots and 'Late Night With Jimmy Fallon,' actor/comedian Aziz Ansari, 'Precious' actress Gabourey Sidibe and Stephanie Pratt from 'The Hills.'

Legend celebrated privately with pals from 10 to 12 at the hip underground lounge, which was decorated with silver, gold, black and white balloons. At midnight, RdV opened its doors for its weekly "Baby I'm a Star" party, which Legend hosted that night.

"He loved everything," says the partygoer. "He got there at around 11 and stayed for hours. It was a really great night."
