Ted Haggard Scores Reality Special on TLC

Sarah Palin and Kate Gosselin, meet your new neighbor. Disgraced evangelist Ted Haggard, who lost his mega-church empire following a male prostitute and crystal meth-fueled scandal, has scored a one-hour reality special on TLC.
Aptly titled 'Ted Haggard: Scandalous,' the show will presumably show how the pastor and his family rebuilt their lives since his epic fall in late 2006. It will also serve as a bit of a public relations device and document his announcement of a new ministry in Colorado Springs, Colo. The special airs Jan. 16.
"My family and I endured the darkest hours imaginable in the public spotlight, and have spent the last four years fighting and struggling to rebuild our lives, our faith and our family," says Haggard in a statement to
Entertainment Weekly.
The preacher, known as Pastor Ted to his followers, was the leader of the 30-million strong National Association of Evangelicals and head of the New Life Church in Colorado Springs when a male prostitute-masseur named Mike Jones alleged that Haggard had paid him for sex as well as crystal meth.
The pastor quit his post at the NAE and eventually left New Life. Since then, he's been getting therapy and has called himself a "heterosexual with issues." He remains married, and he and his wife Gayle have five children.
Haggard tells EW that he hopes "showing the world the new chapter of our lives will hopefully inspire others to find their own path to overcome their struggles and embrace the power of acceptance."
He says that if he can be redeemed, then anyone can. "The church is open to all, even those who have committed the darkest sins."
'Ted Haggard: Scandalous' is being produced by RelativityReal, makers of 'Broke & Famous' and 'Find My Family.' If successful, it could lead to more episodes down the road. (Dare we suggest a camping trip with TLC-mate Palin?)

Well folks you can ask for forgiveness but educated and thinking people dont have to give it. Gay is not the issue here. lying to his church, friends and family is. He is a liar, point of fact.
Frank you the man! I've lost all faith in the Trailer Life Channel.

TLC definitely needs to change its name. What the hell is anyone "learning" watching these inane morons?

If your Pastor isn't preaching Biblical doctrine, find a new Pastor! You will never go wrong following scripture.

The life he is living is more important. You can tell a man of God by his actions. They speak louder than words
You are correct! The Bible tells us that we will be known by our deeds. The life he is living is important only to himself. I'm not interested in judging his faith, that's God's job. If you follow scripture, you will be on the correct path.
Just what is it we are suppose to learn (TLC) from having this lieing gay guy on TV once again that we don't already learn before. Draging his family through this just to give the elusion of support is a joke. He's gay not by choice like he preached, but by birth. He's not the first that hides behind a family to cover up his real way of life..............sad, sad!!

Anyone else remember when TLC used to not be trash TV? Ah, the good old days. *sighs*

Yes. I also remember when MTV actually had music videos and not loser reality crap.
this is just another thing that teaches our youth that you can be an idiot, break the law and get paid for it. and people wonder why our society is as bad as it is

Is TLC so desperate they need to spend money on crap like this, or are we so desperate we have to watch crap like this? I've never bothered to waste my time watching Kate plus 8, anything that involves Sarah Palin, (it's not reality) nor any of the other stupid shows about how other celebrities choose to live. In the end, who really gives a %#@*? I am a spiritual person in many ways, but this guy is one of the reasons I hate going to church!

Did TLC originally stand for The Learning Channel? The Loser Channel seems to be a better fit now.

Of course, another hypocrite man of God. That's all churches are filled with, hypocrites. Let's have a show about them eventhough we see them everywhere, everyday.

If everyone were perfect we wouldn't need churches. Would we???
Oh my!
I guess Iam from the old school ... Whatever you have done you ask God to forgive you. You don't flaunt your mistakes and air your dirty baggage on a show for everyone to watch. Money Money Money.. I guess thats more popular than dragging your family through your garbage. Make them relive all of it all over again even more public

So are you referring to contemporary science or that of the backwards, outmoded ones that spend 90% of their lives reworking their own results to twist them to their own atheistic views?
If the latter is the case, then stay away from advanced sciences like cosmology and microbiology. You wouldn't like what you find there.
