Nick Lachey, Vanessa Minnillo Booked for Guest Roles on 'Hawaii Five-O'

Recently engaged couple Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo plan to stock up on sunscreen and banish the winter blues by shooting an upcoming episode -- featuring pirates! -- of CBS' 'Hawaii Five-O.'

The 'Sing-Off' host, 37, and his bride-to-be, 30, will play an engaged couple, according to People.com. (The real-life fiances just returned home to California from a holiday getaway in Italy, where they vacationed with Drew Lachey, Nick's younger brother and former 98 Degrees bandmate, and his wife.) Minnillo will portray a woman who works as a deckhand on a cruise boat that's taken hostage by pirates.

Lachey, meanwhile, may be hoping his concentration won't be taken hostage by old memories: He proposed to first wife Jessica Simpson on a boat off the coast of Hawaii back in 2002, and even shared footage of the romantic moment on the couple's reality series 'Newyweds.'

As for Minnillo and Lachey, their TV resumes both feature far more work on celeb news and reality shows than scripted series, but they do have previous acting credits. He was cast in a recurring role on ABC's 'Charmed' in 2004; she has guest-starred on 'How I met Your Mother,' 'Psych,' 'CSI: NY' and 'The Bold and the Beautiful.'

A date has not been announced for their wedding, but Lachey certainly seems elated about his love life these days. Last month he gushed about Minnillo, "She's my soulmate in every way. ... She gets me, I get her. ... She's a great girl. ... She's incredibly intelligent, incredibly personable. She's independent, yet supportive. I'm extremely happy that she's mine."
