Countess LuAnn de Lesseps Calls Daughter's N-Word Use 'Unacceptable'
EXCLUSIVE: 'Real Housewives of New York City' star Countess LuAnn de Lesseps calls her 16-year-old daughter's use of the N-word in a YouTube video "unacceptable" and tells
PopEater in an exclusive statement that she'll use this setback to teach Victoria about the consequences of her actions.
"I am the parent of a teenager, and as any parent can attest, teenagers go through periods of doing things that are wrong and not appropriate and that are later regretted," she tells me. "My daughter Victoria knows that the behavior she exhibited was unacceptable. I have chosen to deal with this as a private family matter and an opportunity to discuss consequences of our actions."
Fellow 'Housewife' Ramona Singer leaked the incident to a wide audience when she took to Twitter to spread a shocking claim that Victoria was spotted in a video using drugs, dropping the N-word and causing quite a stir.
"The countess's daughter rolling a cigarette swearing n***er! fast forward to 4.12!!!," Ramona tweeted about the YouTube video.
Both tweet and video have now disappeared (see a screengrab
here), and an apologetic Ramona told me, "I'm not very tech savvy, and [I'm] heartbroken that I accidentally retweeted this. I called Luann and Victoria immediately to apologize and tell them to remove the video. Regardless of our catfights on the show, our children are off-limits."
Although, at last night's 40th anniversary gala kickoff for New York Foundation for the Arts, hosted by 'Housewives' stars Simon van Kempen and Alex McCord, I was reminded that cast members' children have not always been off-limits to other stars.
"None of us are perfect, and sometimes we all tweet or retweet a little too hastily," Simon told me. "But it would be a little duplicitous for LuAnn to complain too much about Ramona's regretful retweet when both she and Jill Zarin had great fun lambasting our oldest son throughout the third season."
Wife Alex added, "In the four years we've been involved with 'Real Housewives,' neither Simon nor I have ever said anything negative about any other castmates' children. Unfortunately, the same can't be said for many others on the show."
Interestingly, Ramona also attended the event, but to hear what she has to say about the Twitter-gate she created, you will just have to watch the show. Yes, Bravo cameras were present.

So you would condone this teenagers behavior? That speaks volumes about you.
There is a whole generation including yourself that is morally corrupt because of their/your bankrupt parents who take no responsibility in raising their children to be productive members of society. POS!
There is a whole genration that is moraly corrupt b/c of the liberal agenda being taught in our schools
@ will Last I checked the school's weren't teaching the kids it was ok to drop the N bomb. Liberal agenda my foot. If the school's are guilty of anything. It's teaching a revisionist history.
n i g g e r s always whine
watermelon. Let me guess. you weigh about 300lbs, huge adams apple, horse teeth and no chin. Get an education you bigoted pig. And please don't have children. Kev
My Mom used to call people like this "trash"...I guess you take the trash out of the trailer park but you can't take the trailer park out of the "trash"
It is astounding how much time and energy people spend obsessing over "Celebrities" and/or their lovers, children, pets, cosmetic surgeries, personal problems, rehab stays and misbehavior. blah, blah, blah - would anyone care if this were not the child of a "clebrity?" I doubt it...
This is blown out of proportion. She wasn't saying it in a derogatory way, she was using it in the same way you would call someone dude, like dude lets fast forward (as written in this article). Everyone uses the "n" word that way, EVERYONE, GASP even white people. Lets stop the nonsense already about this. Why isn't anyone in an uproar about a 16 yr old rolling a joint, i'm sure she's on at least 2 prescription drugs by this point in her life, (as are many children of privelege at her age because life is soooo hard for them!!), so why isn't her mother upset that she's using something illegal??

EVERYONE???? I doubt that, but I do agree with your statement regarding drug usage and maybe Mommy isn't worried because she might also self medicate
No Rita, EVERYONE does not, *gasp* including plenty of BLACK people. Generalizations get you nowhere, fast.
I will agree, there should be more of an uproar about the drug usage.
no, not everyone and not everyone is cool with "everyone" saying it. let her say it around black people and see how cool it is then........moron.
Rita is right. What's the shock value here? So she used the N-word...big deal. This generation all use it. I mean this generation is highly influenced by rap music and ghetto culture and it's hip to emulate it...so if you're going to be angry at anyone...be angry at the source of all of this behavior: Rap and Hip Hop music. Even joint smoking...that's all part of this ghetto culture that has spread into the suburbs and have created basically ignorant, drug smoking, disrespectful thugs out of our once innocent children. MTV has created a generation of losers.
No dear, NOT everyone uses that word....in any context....at any time......ever.
Moe: What do you mean when you say "let her say it around black people and see how cool it is then?" How would the blacks react? With violence? For a white person using "their" word? Not too long ago, blacks could expect a violent reaction from whites if blacks used a "whites only" bathroom, etc. Now we have the double-standard of whites can't say a "blacks only" word without backlash. If blacks have a problem with the n-word, let them clean their own house of it first.
No, EVERYONE doesn't "use the "n" word that way."
lol i go to a pretty diverse high school and i see the n word being thrown around like it's nothing from yes, shocker, EVERYONE. black people, white people, asians, indians, spanish people, orange people, blue people, EVERY people. it's teenage slang these days, it doesn't have the same annotation as it used to back in the day. just wanted to throw that in.
Really, you say that word, but you could have said DUDE, instead????????????????? Not. She herd this language some place. I am white and my kids would NEVER say that word!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is NOT OK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! EVER!!!!!!!!!
As the father of 5 boys and a coach for over 25 years, I have to say the "n" words being used by the younger generation constantly. Just this past summer I coached a team that was 50% black and 50% white, and they All called each other the "n" word. I told them that was a word that I better not hear from them, but they continued to say it when they thought I was not paying attention. Needless to say, they were running bases at least once a day.
