Vanilla Ice Reveals Why He Broke Up With Madonna

Rapper Vanilla Ice revealed in an interview that he dated Madonna in 1991. It was "exciting" to be in a relationship with an older woman, and she was a "great lover," he told 'News of the World,' according to Digital Spy. He was 24 years old, and Madonna was 33 at the time they were dating.

Ice, whose real name is Robert Van Winkle, ended it when Madonna published her 1992 coffee-table book 'Sex,' which featured intimate photographs of the couple and images of her with other men.

"I broke up with her after she printed that book because I was hurt to be an unwitting part of this slutty package," said the 'Ice Ice Baby' rapper. "It was disgusting and cheap. We were in a relationship, yet it looked like she was screwing all these other people."

He goes on to say, "I thought she was taking pictures and running round naked because she was like that. Then when the book came out I was so embarrassed and ashamed. It was a porno. She threw me in like I was a product off a shelf, and I didn't appreciate it. That was it, and I ended it. She said she didn't have sex with these men, but it looked like she was."

Ice is currently participating in the U.K. reality competition 'Dancing on Ice.'

It looks to me like the author of this piece really didn't want to think about Vanilla Ice screwing Madonna for any longer than was necessary, and so just added that last sentence and called it a day.

Madonna is perhaps the most vapid entertainer who has ever graced a stage. There has had to be much more than her weak musical talent that has kept her in the public eye. Twenty seven years ago, no one thought she would ever be anything more than a flash in the pan. It is her genius at self-promotion that should be applauded. She turned shameless self-promotion into an art form. Therefore, no one in her past should be surprised that she used them to further her career.

I like Vanilla Ice a.k.a. Robert Van Winkle, but he needs to stop with this story. This all supposedly took place during the early 90s when Madonna was in her prime (Sex Book, Truth or Dare, Warren Beaty, etc.) and finding lovers was not a problem for her. Robert was nothing more than a jumpoff, where he tries to make it sound as though they were dating. Please lol. And, I don't buy the story that he was surprised that he was taking photographs for the Sex Book. Ole Vanilla Ice was pretty wild himself back in those days and not quite the prude he is now making himself out to be.
